Instead of getting rid of a coaster like Vortex, why can't they just improve it......I mean, it was the 2nd stand up coaster built by B&M in 1992....right? Since then, they have made them taller, longer, faster etc......Can't they just get B&M to take Vortex apart and increase height, track length etc to make it more like Riddler's Revenge? I rode Chang at Kentucky Kingdom (now Defunct) and that was SOO much of a better ride than Vortex simply because the ride was higher and lasted longer.... Something interesting I did......I watched a POV on Scorcher and Vortex at the starting from the first drop, it surprised me that scorcher was only like 5 seconds longer of a ride than Vortex, yet the track length is almost 1000 feet longer. I thought that was odd............I also wonder about the future of Carowinds in regards to height limit. We know the Skytower is 325 ft I think??? Could there EVER be a Top Thrill Dragster at Carowinds? Does anyone know if that would EVER even be possible? Just curious...

I have no clue if Carowinds has a height limit, but seeing that there is an airport not far away a Top Thrill Dragster would change some flight paths to go around Carowinds.

So on the question of if we will ever get one- Its possible, would probably upset some flight planners if we got one.

If it were to go anywhere in the park it would most likely have to take Hurlers place.

Well remember the skytower is 325 feet high........so another 75 feet would only be needed for something to be as high as Top Thrill Dragster.......They could also make a version of Top Thrill that was equivalent to the height of the skytower.....325 feet is still HIGH!!! :)

Oh really? That's good.....I was just intimating that a height limit might prevent carowinds from getting any monster rides like top thrill dragster (not that anything would come here in 2011 like that) but I'm sure in a few years they will add a ride similar to that..I was just hoping if/when they do, it will not be affected by some sort of height limit. Nice to hear the sky tower is closer to 400 feet than I thought. For 2011, I wish they would get a flat ride like Delirium at Kings Island.

I agree. B&M dont go that high, and we dont need an intamin disasterpiece in our park.

I've ridden Top Thrill Dragster...It is one of my favorite rides on the PLANET. (def worth the wait for the front row). But everything I've read has been that Top Thrill Dragster is a nightmare for maintenance. We had it break down two separate times while we waited in line for TWO HOURS, and there were big hours on end when it was down each day, several times a day, while we were there for a multiple day trip last year.

I would LOVE something like that but I doubt they'll ever do another one at a Cedar Fair park.

Once they get In.TRIM.idator305 fixed up in Richmond it would be fun to have a speed machine like that is SUPPOSED to be, to go along with Intimidator232, but that would be YEARS from now after they show some love and other coasters to other Cedar Fair parks which they probably have to do before we get another coaster

I bet they put in some flat ride next to Intimidator and switch out the action theater movie. I could care less about paint, many on here talk about how great new paint would be for this or that, but I'd rather them BUILD than worry what color something is. But that's just me

*Sigh* It's not like they are out repainting new things. They are repainting things that look like CRAP. (As Cyclone has looked from about 2005 to last year) Repainting rides freshens up the area, and can make an old ride look brand new. I would rather paint the existing attractions rather than get a whole bunch of new stuff and let the older stuff rot by the wayside.

I don't understand this logic at all. How about the park decides what would be best for the park next, THEN decides on a manufacturer. Not the other way around.

Also curious about our 4th B&M...
