Anyone know why night hawk is closed?
was looking at carowinds web site and it says the ride is currently closed.

I was actually there the day before yesterday; I'm almost positive that the chain broke. They sent up a cherry picker and worked on it for about three hours from what I can remember. Afterwards, I went on the skytower to get a better look - there was a large space where the chain was supposed to be in the guide... Do with that information what you will. :

Appears to still be broken. Any idea how long it will be to fix it?

Also on the topic of Nighthawk- Can we pleasssse get new signage. I think the borg signs are a tad bit faded.

the chain didnt break. Cant tell you whats wrong or how long it will be down... but it wont be soon.

No ERT on Nighthawk then possibly during Coasterstock which also means no Vekoma roughness? Oh what a tragedy. What will I ever do?

if the chain didnt break maybe the motor went bad and that can take a while to replace.
we had a motor go bad on a machine at work and it actually took about a month or so for a new one to come in. then they had to install it and do tests to make sure it was good to use.

I'm just going to go on a limb here and say it would not be cheap at all to replace.

i currently work at carowinds in my email today we were told it was the gearbox. we could be waiting as long as 2 weeks for the new one to be shipped

Not information that I would go posting...Trust me(A former Carowinds Ride Op), Carowinds reads coaster fansites, and takes time to figure who posters are that id themselves as Carowinds employees.
