Question:

Has this coaster been a maintenance nightmare for Carowinds? Just wondering if they regret having it.

^^^ hmmm, that is a good question. It doesnt really seem down all that often, its up everytime I go at least. I know opening year it was down A LOT! Other than that I dont recall it being down all that much. I just wish they could put different trains on the ride or something, I mean I think its good that we have a "flying" coaster, but its just not all that fun or exciting. I doubt it will be leaving the park anytime in the near future, unfortunately....

BorgHawk is the perfect example of the differences between enthusiasts and GP.

Enthusiasts are either "meh" towards the ride or hate it. Count me in the "meh" camp, I'll ride it when there isn't much of a line and I like it well enough, but I'm not waiting in any 2-hour lines for it. Or a 15 minute line, for that matter.

BorgHawk was THE ride at Carowinds from 2004-2009 to the GP, though. It was the ride my co-workers always asked about, it was the ride I'd hear the most convos about while in line for other rides, etc. Even now I hear people excitedly talking about riding it next after they get off Intimidator.

While I can understand them liking the ride more than most of "us", what boggles my mind is the love for it at the seeming expense of the infinitely better Afterburn.

The ride has been pretty reliable during it's time here, and considering the aforementioned GP love of the thing I'm sure Carowinds has been pretty pleased with it overall. Cobra probably earns the "problem child" award judging by how often that goes down. Of course every coaster in that spot has been a maintenance problem. Must be a curse by the ol' Witch Doctor that was nearby

There is no way for us to know if it is a month or a year. We can't speculate on facts we do not yet have.

I think the love for the flying coaster is the fact of the way you are only held in by the restraints, nothing else. Maybe that adds to the thrill for some even though it's not a giant coaster. As for Carolina Cobra, I thought that was the whole point of the out of the box Vekoma boomerang (they are cheap and reliable) I thought that's why they are all over the place. I guess not.

^No, trust me. I know what I'm talking about. It's been just over two weeks.

Who lets some of these people in?
