And regardless, UF owns FSU's poor little soul. Even in Bobby's "great" career, he hasn't had a winning record against the O&B.
Half its team? Really? You must not know the situation. And, yes... a few athletes were guilty of helping each other on online tests. This was a school wide problem and not just a football team problem. Imagine that... kids help each other on a test when the teacher isn't around. You would never do that, right?
Are you really bring up past coaches? What was Steve Spurrier's record against Bobby? Did the ol ball coach ever win at Doak?
Obviously I was exaggerating when I said half the team, but there were definitely over 30 players suspended for that bowl game. When you take into account they have 85 scholarship players, that's approaching half the scholarships they have.
Never was a big fan of Spurrier, if he cared as much about defense as he did offense (and he played in the worst conference in football like the ACC), he probably would have been winning national championships left and right. And no matter what kind of argument you come up with, UF owns FSU. National championships, wins, head to head record, Heisman winners, tradition, attendance, stadium, atmosphere, hot women without STDs.
FSU had a nice stretch of 14 years, which I'll give them their props for that, but they were leaching off of UF being on probation in the 80s and playing in BY FAR the easiest major football conference in the country. They were given the option to join the SEC in the early 90s and Bobby refused, knowing that he would get his arse handed to him playing in a real football conference. But I don't blame him, if I had the easy way out to winning a lot of games, I'd probably take it, too. Funny thing is, with all that talent and the fast track to the national championship for practically the entire decade of the 90s, all he did was choke in the big games. And he lost to Ron Zook (with the worst UF team in 20 years) at home on the night that the field was being named after him.
