If you could switch rides around, rename a park section or change the music in that area, what would it be?

I think I'd put all water rides closer to the water park. People seem to think they can ride Rip Roarin' Rapids half naked anyway.

I think I'd put all the coasters closer together.

I'd add a monorail system that actually circles the entire park - with load and unload stations.

As for the Carolina Boardwalk, I'd make the soundtrack all beach and fish-fry music, and place the Southern Star over there.

If I could switch rides around etc, I would do county fair. I would rip up the parking lot behind thunder road, move the entrance over more and add more rides. I think I would also move GR8 SK8 more towards the kiddie park to open up room for a new thrill ride that would fit in beside intimidator. Also, in county fair, I would take out some of the games to put something, remove yo-yo and get something worth having, and of course put something new in the action theatre. I think there is so much potential in county fair if they would rip up some of the parking lot and add more rides. Doesnt look like that will happen since the parking lot over there got new paint and new light poles etx.... Oh well. I think Country fair and Thrill Zone needs the most work. If I did thrill zone, I would make drop zone taller, add a ride somewhere over there and expand out if I could. I think a nice launch coaster would be nice way back in thrill zone, dont think I would remove hurler or screamweaver and definately keep the skyflyer. Maybe take out the go-karts but I think they are OK, maybe that would be better closer to intimidator..... I do like the idea of having the water rides closer to the water park, but at the same time its nice to have them spread out a little just so when you are hot and on the opposite side of the park, you can get wet. Oh well the park has a lot of potential and I cant wait to see what they pull out of their sleeves next year...

Ok, so a little late in the season but I finally rode Hurler for the first time since opening day this year and have to say the trims ruined the ride and did nothing to solve the rough ride. A rough ride without thrills is no ride at all...maybe lightnin could strike...

Right, so it's supposed to give you a headache? Well I guess Intamin really failed when it built El Toro... Besides, he's got a point. Hurler is the most painful ride at Carowinds and is too rough for me to ride (at least, in my opinion.).

This simple statement is enough to tell me that you have never been on a good wooden coaster. If wooden coasters aren't supposed to be smooth then why bother with the complete retracking of Thunder Road?

There is a difference between "rough", "wooden coaster rough" and "smooth". Most wooden coasters aren't of course smooth by any means, but you should not be coming off of them with injuries or saying you'll never do it again. There is a fine line woodies can have that can vary from day to day, hour to hour, or seat to seat. A ride that is bearable in the morning may be absolute hell just a few hours later.

That being said I do not currently find Hurler to be rough. In my ten years of riding it I don't think it's ever been so bad where I have not wanted to ride ever again. I rode it twice at Coaster Stock, (once near the front, once in the back, both times NOT on a wheel seat) and it was perfectly fine. I'm not a fan of the trim, but they should by no means tear it down. (yet)

It is rough I have to say that but, what can they do to make is smooth?

The Hurler is rough every time I ride it at any time during the day or night. It doesn't change that drastically from minutes to hours but it does need rain to fall on it every once in a while - as all wooden rides do - because the wood expands and moves somewhat when it dries out. While Thunder Road is also rough, it isn't as bad.

I say... Let the people who like to feel like a milkshake after certain rides have those. I'm in love with the smooth steel coasters.

I have to say they are rough but I like steel coasters better...
