General Carowinds discussion

So I'm sure this has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find what I was looking for in the forums. Anyway, I have never been to Carowinds Scarowinds (I have been to Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion Halloween events though) and was shocked to see that you have to pay a separate admission for that. I know at Kings Dominion you didn't have to your general admission covered that. The weekend of the 20th of September will be the only weekend I get a chance to because that's when I'm coming home from England to visit family, and I'm having Intimidator withdrawels  . My question is how much extra does that admission cost?. Do you have to leave the park and reenter? Or am I misreading something on the Carowinds site?.

They talked about that at coasterstock the other night. They're doing things a bit differently this year. They haven't announced a price, but it will change depending on which day you go. For example, a Saturday will be more expensive than a weekday. And it will be more expensive as the 31st comes around.

Yeah, early in the season it'll be cheaper. They said they're trying to get it up to Knott's standards, which is good for the park because that event gets rave reviews at Knott's.

Ok thanx..I was wondering because I never heard of them charging a separate price but that's awesome that they are trying to up their game..Yea I will be going early in the season probably the 25th of September because that's the only time I will be in the States till next summer..I'm gonna have to take full advantage of it all lol..I just hope it's not gonna be to pricey on top the general admission because not gonna have much extra cash after having to buy plane tickets :( ..but man I miss Carowinds

the chepiest thing to do is to buy a gold season pass it pays for carowinds and scarowinds thats what we did and it is alot cheaper that way weve been to carowinds about 6 times and you have to leave he park at 530 and retern at 7 so you have to leave for 1 hour and 30 mins

Thanks for the advice, but it wouldn't make any since to spend all that money considering I'm not going to be able to go but that one day in September. If I was still in the States I would definantly consider buying one.

At coaster stock they were saying in the beginning of scarowinds it will be cheaper than the end of the season.

I'm planning to get there when the park opens and stay until (hopefully) midnight. I want to get as many rides as I possibly can on Intimidator because I have only went to the park once at the beginning of the season and this will be my last chance until May of next year. Which brings me to another question. Are the rides still open during Scarowinds or is it some rides are open some not, etc?

^^Everything should be open, excluding the kiddie park. The ride mechanics said they will likely "Do something" for scarowinds on intimidator, meaning fog or strobe lights or some kind of special effect on the coaster, I look forward to seeing what they do, hopefully they really will! I will likely talk to them again at C3.. :D

^ OMG that would be sooo awesome if they did :D . I'm so ready to get my coaster fix. I'm thinking I will go ahead and get a season pass for next year considering I will be in the States most of the summer..Well pretty much all summer..I have never been to Carowinds Scarowinds so I'm really excited to see what they have to offer..I've only been to Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion's Halloween events. Which Busch Gardens wasn't that great, the employees just weren't into it. Kings Dominion's was really good though. My favorite was the Midevil Macabre I think that's how they spelled it..Maybe I will run into some people from this site while I'm there..That would be pretty kewl..
