Does anybody know why the park left a large parcle of land undeveloped to the upper left of Borg Assimilator?

I was thinking this land was left clear for future theming, or if the Goldrusher was ever removed, they could put an evan larger ride on that spot without as much work.

Or, is it just a yet to be filled part of the lagoon?

Haha, we were wondering how long it would take for this to get posted. I think it's for the geese. :P Seriously though, my bet would be that the park just hasn't figured out anything to do with it yet; there's a bunch of hay down now like there was last year over there where the geese were.

Hey, it's never too soon to start speculating about what the 2007 season holds for us. :D

I think I saw that too. To me it looks like they didn't get time to finish all the landscaping behind Borg, or maybe it was too wet.

And bite your tongue about Goldrusher! I love that old thing, and would hate to see it go! It is the original coaster at the park after all ;)

** bgwfreak leaves to stop revolt of people mad because Dukeis#1 said that Goldrusher was being removed for an inverted wildmouse** lol

Personally, I would like to see a nice thick clump of trees in that area to give Goldrusher back some of it's privacy.

Also, I think I saw a couple footers on the maintanence road that were for the hyper that will go under the bridge.

I'm saying more of "what if" that was to ever happen.

I love the Goldrusher too because its one of the 4 original rides left, but it seems like the next thing to go. :(

I think they did a very good job with landscaping. The grass is nice, and when the trees grow up they'll be lots of shade.

What about a picture-on-ride/gift shop for Borg?

That could be it! Ding ding ding you win the prize. :) I didn't even think of that.

I was actually surprised they didn't have an on-ride photo already on Borg, but as many people are riding it, I'm sure it's coming in the next few weeks.

But they put the thing together in like 2 or 3 months, so they might not have had time to get it put in.

Can't believe Hurler still has an OR Photo! It's 10 years old this year. lol My how time flys.

I would think.

1) more trees
2) more theming

This is what I think about of what will happen

I wouldn't expect an on-ride photo to be installed. None of the Vekoma flyers have them. Not sure what the reason is, but I would bet that if it wasn't there opening day, it won't be there this year.

Though it probably won't happen, I must say it's a great idean to have OR photos. They would be the greatest pictures ever. Right after the horseshoe turn as you rise up from the water.

SFOG's Superman: Ultimate Flight removed their on-ride photo for this season, or at least it wasn't there when we were there the second week they were open. Now I'm REALLY hating that I didn't get the photo from 2002, when my friend James and I were by ourselves on the back row for our first ride. The cameras were right at the bottom of the pretzel loop, and as you can imagine we had interesting expressions being our first ride on it LOL. And unlike Top Gun's onride photo, this one showed the entire row instead of just 2 seats on one side.

Why BORG doesn't have one, I don't know. While a location in the loop like the B&M flyers wouldn't work as well since it's not as flat or elongated as the pretzel, there seem to be some pretty good locations one could be installed at. I also think that people would like to get a picture of their "flight", seeing as how many of the general public I've talked to seem to be wowed by the whole flying concept.

Speaking of onride photos, Hurler got a new onride photo system this year. They seem to have replaced the bank of cameras with what looks to be two cameras - I'm guessing they have some new high-speed system that can shoot continuously and get each row of the train as it passes, instead of having a camera for each row like the old system. I think it had some monitors on the wall behind the booth, but they were putting the pictures up on two monitors at the front of the booth just like they do on Ricochet - it seems to be the same system as used there. It looks like the pictures are much better quality than the previous system.

I do hope this system still lights up the Hurler structure at night when the flash goes off - that's always one of my favorite sights at night in the park, especially at Scarowinds.

Yea that is pretty awesome to see. Although at Scarowinds, it's not as exciting after all the strobe lights.
