Glad they finally announced, lol! There aren't many (if any) promo materials for the ride yet as it was pretty quickly sprung on the park "last minute". It'll be located on Freefall's old site and will use the same new style cars as seen on Huracan at Belantis.

Josh, can you comment on, or do you know, if this was the work of Weber's taking over as COO, and the new guy as CEO? Because if this is coming out of that regime, I'm very happy.

So far, next year, SFNE gets a mouse, SFoG gets a Eurofighter, SFGAdv gets a Chang, and SFMM gets a roller skater (and perhaps more???). We know St. Louis is getting something, and that Great America seems to be getting a waterpark expansion (did they reveal it yet?). I think they're on the right track with the new management.

With this addition, it may give me an incentive to go in the next year or so. I haven't ridden this type of coaster and looks interesting.

Don't forget SFMM is re-tooling Superman in some fashion for next year. I think the Eurofighter is the most exciting addition thus far, and we'll see what St. Louis gets.

I don't know what St Louis is getting, yet, but I'm excited to see as I love that park.

I was told that a 2nd (non Six Flags) park in the US is getting a Euro Fighter next year too, and since I saw at least 2 people on 2 different sites mention it already, I assume it's okay to mention that here. Glad to see these things going in, I like Mystery Mine.

^I've seen the 2nd Euro Fighter rumors as well, and it really makes me wonder what park it could be (since apparently it's not going to be a SF park). We can pretty much rule out all CF parks. We can pretty much rule out all Busch/SW parks. So that means that a smaller park is getting one. You gotta start thinking about what kind of parks can afford one and have to attendance to support a move like that. Silver Dollar City was rumored to have a Euro Fighter coming their way earlier this year, so that's going to be my guess. Considering Dollywood got one a few years back, it would make perfect sense for SDC to get one now.

No clue on that one. Although I would think it would be from the new guy based on the amount of time they had to get this together. Based on the rumors and the "info" I got they WERE going to get a Tony Hawk in the same spot and it changed to this rather quickly hence the reason they don't have much to show for the ride but a few statistics (some wrong at that)!

And if the second Non-Six Flags park to get a Euro Fighter is Silver Dollar City, I wouldn't count on it for 2011. It got pushed back (again).

That's funny because all I could think about when I saw the announcement was how rushed and "bush league" it seemed, like they don't even know that much about the ride themselves. Makes sense.

Bummer about SDC. But if that means that it's not the 2nd Euro Fighter being built for 2011, then what is?

Maybe Magic Mountain or St. Louis is getting one as well...

It would be funny if Magic Mountain did because of their "competition" with Cedar Point for the most coasters. Say for instance Cedar Point knows that Magic Mountain is adding the roller skater next year to tie their record so the Point goes and adds something small to Planet Snoopy to "surprise" Magic Mountain and keep the record. Then out of the blue Magic Mountain adds a Dare Devil Dive and ties the record anyway, lol!

To those questioning...

By calling it the first in the country to go beyond vertical, they are refering to it pausing before going over the first drop(like Sheikra) which is why it's being marketed as a "dive coaster".

...After an agonizing pause at the crest of the summit, you plummet downward at an angle that is beyond straight down...

They also updated the information on SFOG's website to clarify their terminology:

... It is the country's first PAUSE element before the beyond vertical drop. ...

Spring Fling is the ACE event at the park and its held fairly early in the year. Its the first ACE Southeeast event in the region.

And here I was thinking about not going next year...

so I guess that whole dynamite explosion scene on mystery mine is done while the train is at a slow roll? Give it up six flags your new coaster is just a regular ole coaster. Sometimes that can be good six flags...atleast its not a clone...yet.

I asked my contact about that Jarvis and he said they were marketing it as the only coaster with a pause before the beyond vertical FIRST drop. Mystery Mine's drop is it's second big drop.

I told him they were really reaching for that "record" and he laughed so at least they know it's not that great of an accomplisment, lol!

And Spring doesn't end until June 21.... ;)

but...but mystery mine only has one beyond vertical drop...the one with the pause. The other one is vertical or near vertical...
