I went on Saturday night. It really wasn't much different than last year I thought. Went through every scare zone and haunted house except for Cornstalkers and Slaughter House. Also went to the "Fangs" show at the Carowinds Theater. Didn't see Bad To The Bone or Magician Jonathan Frost.
Positives:
-Thought Defex was a great new house even though it kind of lacked on the old toy factory theming. The one thing you'll remember after you leave this house is the number of airsprays everywhere.

Those things are LOUD. The very beginning had some drunk looking hot chick scharactor that was holding a bottle of whisky on top of a platform.

Thought it was very random. There was a fork lift you had to go in front of and the driver would yell at you to get out of the way or else he would threaten to run you over. There was also a dressed up skeleton in a Santa Clause costume and a lady who looked like she was cut in half laying down on the floor along the route. Towards the end, you have to walk through one of those claustrophic blow up things like you have to in Asylum even though it wasn't as bad in this house as it was in that one. That's all i'll give away on Defex. 9/10
-Asylum is still the best. Pretty much the same as last year. Camera where they take your pic is no longer in this house. It has been moved to Silver Screen Sinema. The scharactors did a good job scaring people in line waiting to get in. The one new thing I remember is the guy banging on the glass wanting out. The more you banged against the glass, the more he did. Definitely a nice addition. Oh and the claustrophic blow up thing you have to walk through is still there. 10/10
-Camp Killauee was really good this year. I knew where the chainsaw guy was going to be and he still scared the living daylights out of me.

I'm pretty sure the bungee guy was a new edition. The scharactors really interacted with me and followed for a good ways. 9.5/10
-Silver Screen Sinema was pretty much exactly the same as last year. Like with Aslyum, the scharactors did a good job scaring people in line waiting to get into the house. Disorienting tunnel is still there along with mini make shift movie theater. 8.5/10
-Last Laugh had very good clowns this year. Definitely knew how to scare you. I didn't have a chance to go through it last year so i'm not sure how it was. Loved the mirror thing you had to walk through, scharactors blending in with the wall, and the honking volkswagen beetle. 8.5/10
-Feeding Frenzy. Exactly the same as last year but still good. Loved the music they played. Went perfectly with the surroundings. The vampires for the most part did their job at hiding then scaring. 8/10
-The Playground didn't have anything new this year either except for maybe the Sandbox on the bridge. If anything I thought it got a little smaller. Could be wrong though. Some of the scharactors did a really good job like the woman standing completely still and the lady dressed like a crosswalk guard while others really lacked like the women in the sandbox. 7/10
-The Cemetery was definitely the best scare zone of the night. Felt more like a house then a scare zone. Scharactors did an excellent job at scaring and interacting. Very dark and foggy. 9/10
Negatives:
-Worst house by far that I went through was Dead Inn. Only ONE scharactor did a good job at scaring. The rest just stood there like they were bored out of their mind or something. The scharactors would interact with me for every house I went through except for this one. They must have put the rookies in this house. First and last time for me. 5/10
-Fangs is basically a dance/musical about vampires. If you thought Justin Bieber sounded bad singing, you haven't seen anything until you've seen Fangs.

Only the blonde girl did an OK job at singing. The rest sounded like they were dying. It was that bad. The only good things were the hot dancing girls in bikini tops and jokes from the two guys trying to convert vampires who ended up becoming vampires themselves. The ending was beyond horrible. Seriously, talking about giving a vampire a booty call is the best you can come up with for the ending? Save your 30 minutes and go through houses instead. 3/10
-Lack of scharactors in the streets. Once again, Carowinds for some odd reason like with the show in the theater can't seem to improve on this one. The atmosphere with the fog and lighting was great but the lack of scharactors especially towards the end of the night really hurt the mood. A lot of the street scharactors from last year like chainsaw guy are back but there are some new ones too like shopping cart lady. With some of the new ones though, I can't even begin to describe how they look or what they're even supposed to be. I'm thinking the one with a lump on its back was a mushroom while the really tall one was a deformed Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars.

I spent more time trying to figure out what half of these new street scharactors were then getting scared. 6/10
