Isn't there an unassembled shuttle loopers in the parking lot of one of the California parks that's basically just lying there being used for parts for that park's shuttle? I swear I read this somewhere.

I'm just glad that Viper got a new lease on life even though it got sent to SFKHell.

Yeah, PGA's Greased Lightning is sitting in SFMW's parking lot and being used as spare parts for SFKK's Greased Lightning(story I have heard).

Yep. Here are some pics:

Also from rcdb:
After the 2002 season Paramount's Great America announced they had sold Tidal Wave/Greased Lightnin' to Wieland Schwarzkopf and that it would be transported back to Germany. As the Greased Lightnin' was trucked away from PGA, it didn't head to port, but north to Six Flags Marine World where it was unloaded in the parking lot. Many people claimed this was a staging area prior to heading back to Germany. This proved not to be true as the Greased Lightnin' is still at Six Flags Marine World.

It is pretty clear that Six Flags Corporation (not necessarily the Marine World park) has purchased the Greased Lightnin'. The unusual move is thought to be because Six Flags purchased the Greased Lightnin' from Wieland Schwarzkopf and there was no point in sending it back to Germany. Rather than send the trucks to port, they were sent to Six Flags Marine World where the ride will be stored until it finds its new home

Like RollerNut said, I believe they are just using it for parts to keep the other two Six Flags Schwarzkopf shuttles running, as it appears to be rotting away. If Six Flags ever intended to use it again, I think it would already be at SFNO or one of their other small parks.

I was very disappointed when SFoG removed TW/Viper. It brought back so many memories of White Lightnin'. SFoG also did a really good job with the theming, and making it fit in with the Cotton States area. Too bad these days, every major ride Six Flags adds is named after Batman or Superman. It gets so damn annoying after a while.

I read that it's a nightmare for SFKK crews to maintain and is closed often. At least it ran pretty frequently during it's Atlanta years.

I say we get a petition going for Carowinds to buy Tidal Wave. lol

I know there's someone on here that works for Paramount. ;) Pull some weight for us. lol :)

I can dream lol. I really like shuttle loops. I've only been on 2 or 3.

Where would Carowinds put GL? I would like to see GL come to Carowinds but it won't happen no matter how many people say do it. If we really do this put Lee Coaster down.

Although this will never happen, there are plenty of areas that GL would go. I'm not going to go through all of my ideas but just think about it. They don't take up hardly any width, just length.

Sorry for bringing this thread up from the extreme-dead... But this is interesting.

My sister (I don't know how reliable this is...) was telling me one time while she was in the water park, she was watching Thunder Road. That's when the train was still backwards; she claimed that some of the cars on the backwards train disconnected with the rest of the train, only to clank back together again at the bottom of the hill.

Oh the horror stories of Carowinds.
