Alright shopping fans, get ready to be bumped, pushed and mauled in the stores, or you can just stay at home and shop online. I’ve got news for everyone.

The day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) is supposed to be the biggest and bet shipping day of the year with sales galore, and I've got a tip for you that may drive you wild. Already on nightly news they've been talking about the Black Friday sales and one of the main events will be the 50 inch digital TVs going on sale for $100. That's right, I said $100. My guess is, the old is being cleared out (remember the analog TVs) to make room for the latest and greatest 3D TVs that are supposed to be the next big thing. 3D video games are coming, 3D movie networks are coming, 3D cameras, and the new 3D DVD players are on the way. Ever wondered why the latest 3D films haven't been released yet? It's because the present players can't handle them. Even theaters can’t play them unless they have a special projector. We’ve come a long way since the two tone 3D lenses.

Not into the new 3D craze enough to buy one of the TVs? That’s okay, if your pay TV company picks up the coming 3D networks, just keep your glasses from theaters or purchase them from places like Amazon.com and watch the films with no trouble, no mater what TV you own.

----------------------------------------------------------
Deals and steals…

For all you online shopping fans, the best place to start is www.best-price.com.
I’ve been researching digital cameras by Canon and fell in love with the SX210 IS – the tiny take-anywhere model with a 16x zoom, and the SX30 IS which is bigger but will zoom in 35x; both are 16 Mega Pixels. This site not only compares prices but also lead me to a site that is lower than Best Buy, Amazon, and Walmart, with free shipping. WOW! You can search for about anything at Best–Price and it will go to work for you. Through this site, I was lead to www.luxuryperfume.com, the site that sells name brand colognes for dirt cheap. I found my $50 brand for only $14.99 and I’m lovin’ it! I will be ordering from them next year when my present bottle gets low.

Electric Fireplaces…
Don’t think, because of their ever-running infomercials, that the Eden Pure and the Amish Heat Surge fireplaces ($200 and up) are the only electric fireplaces out there. There’s a whole host of them buy other companies and for cheaper prices. Again, www.best-prices lead me to them and I found out they come in a lot of different styles and some are highly chic. But the best price of all was discovered when I recently shopped at Roses. Dura-Flame – makers if the long burning fireplace logs – also makes the electric warmers with realistic flames, and they are on sale right now at Roses for only $75.

My dilemma is, should I buy the gadgets I want right now, or do I wait and see if prices will drop even more on the day after Thanksgiving? Help me please…

If you find any great discounts out there, please let us all know. Black Friday and the rest of the holiday shopping will be here before you know it.

If you are an online shopper, Cyber Monday usually has some great online shopping deals. It is the Monday following Black Friday (i.e. the Monday following Thanksgiving). An Internet search for Cyber Monday will give you all sorts of resources, coupons, etc.

Is this how it is online, most sales happen on the Monday after Thanksgiving, not the day after, or will I be waiting for nothing? Should I go on and order my $349 camera for $239 now or will the deals get even sweeter?

I've already done most of my shopping because I HATE shopping in large crowds. I did some online and instore and got good deals for what I purchased. Im gonna be mad if I see something I bought on sale later....lol

P.S. They can keep the 3D tv's. I can't watch stuff in 3d for long periods of time as I get a massive headache. I can take a 3D or 4D attraction occationally since they aren't that long. Even those I can't get back in line for right after riding (except maybe Spiderman @ IOA since there is alot more going on than just sitting in place or a moving platform). I'll stick to the regular ole 2D tvs...lol

Love the new avatar! Now there's another cat that can roar, hunt, and purrrr with me.
Roooaaar!

Well said! That's also my present dilemma - to buy now or wait and maybe catch some great sells later? That is the question...

There have been resent reports the new 3D TVs have started making people sick. It pays not to rush out and buy a first of anything because they always improve on it later. But you know those aren't the digital TVs going on sale on Black Friday, its the ones we have already. It will be a great time to upgrade to a bigger size if you have any money left over. We'll probably have to already be inside a 24 hour store to bag a 50" to avoid the long lines, fights and shootouts this year. LOL... But even that's no guarantee we'll be totally safe.

I do love Black Friday...when people primitively regress to cavemen, and uneatable objects become food to fight for and defend.

Black Friday sucks this year. Check out the ads at bfads dot net if you don't believe me. I'm glad I got my TV at the Walmart sale last weekend. Beats any BF sale this year.

Wow Lanigan,
I just came from the site you spoke of and I'm really shocked. If that site holds true to BF, and they are already selling out of the items I have my eye on, I'd better go on and get my stuff now. Thanks for the site and the tip.

I just left TJ Maxx today and I was pleasantly pleased. It seem as if they have discounted about all the items in their store on S. Blvd. I didn't look at cloths but I sure looked at all the household items and picked up some nice gifts there. They have redesigned their checkout line to get to the registers and have loads of discounted items on both sides of the line while you wait for an available register. That was pretty sneaky of them but they had some pretty cool deals in the line as well. I spotted and bought a box of the coolest designer Christmas cards for only $7 and some change at the line.

You get the Max for the minimum at TJ Maxx, TJ Maxx!

I agree with you (cwgator) i hate those 3d tv's. Checked one out while i was at best buy a few weeks ago, gave me a headache after about 2 minutes. Not to mention you have to wear glasses at your house, and can't just flip channels couse everything is not in 3d(yet). Also the glasses are about $150 a pop. Not worth it when you got little rugrats running around!

I don't know why but people keep coming up with different 3D formats.
I believe the two tone lenses were first. I have the animated Polar Express Christmas movie with Tom Hanks that came with four paper pairs of the red and bluish-green lenses and I still pull that movie out from time to time to watch it.

The Boo Blaster ride at Carowinds isn't really 3D. The glasses it uses make the black light colors pop. I used a pair of 3D glasses on the ride from a resent movie theater issue and they were of no effect. A coworker used a pair of the Boo Blaster glasses at home to watch a 3D DVD. The glasses did nothing for the film.

Now, the latest, we have 3D TVs that use shutter technology - where a device on the TV communicates with the 3D glasses to cause shutters on the lenses to quickly close and open over each eye, working with the brain to fool (force) us to see 3D objects.

A coworker, army veteran told me that not everyone's brain can process 3D images the same way. He said that even the Sponge Bob movie caused some people to think they were actually in the film - everything was happening to them instead of the characters on the screen. He told me he first learned of this while in the army. There had been a few incidences in Carowinds' Action Theater where people had to leave during the film because they couldn't handle this technology.

Final thoughts...
Remember the VCR vs. Beta war? How about the more recent Blur-ray vs. high definition DVD players? In the same way, one of these many 3D technologies is bound to win over the market as the public decided what it prefers. While this new home experience is steadily working its way into our homes, I say wait; It will only improve. Forget the shutter experience. Keep It Simple! If I can't just sit and watch a 3D film at home like I do in theaters, forget it!

3D Technology does not have any affect on the action theater show on me, except for clearing up the picture.

Nothing pops from the screen.

LOL. You're one of the rare, the tough, the strong, the proud!
But as simple as that movie was, word has it that that brand of 3D gave some people a fit. I guess the brain signals to the eyes that are supposed to be interpreted one way get lost in translation somewhere along the way.

Not all things are for everybody. Isn't that the truth!

Shoppers, watch those discount site carefully before you make your purchases. Their cheap prices could mean you aren't getting everything the the device producers intended for you to have. Use amazon.com or the manufacturer's website to see exactly what package they put together for you with the mail item you're after.

I found my digital camera for $239 and rejoiced that I didn't have to pay $279 - the low price I found elsewhere, but it didn't have the battery, batter charger, wrist strap, digital card wallet. Pay attention to all the details. Use a more familiar site to see just what's in the box.

Is anyone finding any more great deals and steals?

When I was younger, if I remember correctly, I could see it just fine. The Paddle ball would come out at me!

3D in general does not effect me. I'd be at the Magic Kingdom in the Philharmagic 3D show, and all the other audience members would reach to the screen as if Donald Duck was getting close to them, as I sit there and think of how idiotic they seem to be.

Would having contacts be one of the reasons?
