So much for "lap bars only"... Sorry guys!

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay For all you Fans who are asking about Cheetah Hunt's restraint system, the new ride will incorporate over-the-shoulder restraints similar to those found on many other IntaRide coasters such as Maverick and Kingda Ka. Thanks for asking!

I think we should just resign ourselves to the probability that EVERY Intamin steel coaster built in the US from now on is going to have OTSRs.

Just hope they don't also show up on any future woodies. I'm only half-joking here.

^^^ Yea I agree. I wonder what there reason for that would be? I can see why cheetah hunt has them, because of the 1 little inversion, but non inverting coasters just dont make sense... If a wooden coaster had OTSR, I would avoid it at all costs. To bad cheetah hunt had the one inversion, otherwise it MAY have had the lapbar. I bet the OTSR are going to KILL that "parabola" after that last launch... Oh well, hopefully I will be able to find out from experience and not from what I read next year.

^The restraints didn't kill the airtime on Maverick or I305 (before the soft straps and before the trims), I don't expect them to kill the airtime on this ride. There's still plenty of room between your shoulders and the restraint, even for tall people like me (I'm 6'5"). No worries on that end.

Oh ok. Well for me 305 had no airtime at all, but this was post trims so maybe thats why I dont know. I wish they could be like premier rides and use a lapbar, not like its not possible. Oh well. I am still waiting on some renderings or layouts to be posted, I wonder when (or if) that will happen. I was reading on screamscape about the name change and how apparently it was a last minute thing? If you go to cheetaka or cheetahhunt.com, they both take you to the bg2011 site. Anyways, ride looks sweet and I hope that renderings etc will be posted in the near future...

Ok...so it's been pretty quiet and all going on other than getting the trenches dug, footers poured and infrastructure in place. Now for something a bit more exciting...

I'm hoping they at least have the"windcatcher tower" in place by the time I go at the end of December. It will be great to get some pics of my own of the construction then. I wish I lived there now so I could just go by the park just because....lol I'll have to wait til next summer for my move, but it will be well worth the wait.
