That wasn't me. I worked The Intimidator (the ride I opened last season with) on my last day and I had mother-jugs-of-speed fun over there.

The opening new season usually starts around the last Saturday of March so I probably will be working on the official opening day but all returning workers do have the option to work in another area. All rehires will get a letter mid-December, instructing us on when to go back for the new season to fill out tax forms, drug test, etc. I'm Anthony, but here on the form I'm PhantomCat - the name derived from Woodstock Gliders when it was Called Danny's Phantom Flyers before the Planet Snoopy theme was adapted to the kid area. We haven't met yet, but we probably will.

I'm interested in a movie meet-up for the holidays. Whose with me?

PM me your movie-to-see suggestions, the day, and time, and I'll decide on the film, the best day and time for most of us to go. With all the different schedules in the world, please understand that some people may not be able to attend this second movie meet-up. The last film was Alice In Wonderland in 3D and we had a blast. People look really strange behind those lenses. Other family members were brought along which only added to the experience. I can tell you now, the location will be at AMC - Carolina Pavilion on South Blvd in Charlotte, NC near I-485. My final decision will be posted here titled, Movie Meet-up #2.

Start casting your suggestions now please.

JamminJ I haven't had a chance to check any out. I'm really hoping to check out EuroPark in Germany before I come home to visit next summer. If I can't make it to that part I want to check out Thorpe Park and Alton Towers. I've heard of blackpool and thought about checking it out and I don't think I am too far from Chessington either. The only thing is by the time it actually warms up enough to go I will be on a plane back home for the summer. Not to mention finding a babysitter to watch my 3 year old overnight is hard to find, that won't charge an arm and a leg that is.

Well perhaps we should move this to another thread, but I'd like to hear some of your ideas.

In order to not hijack this tread form PhantomCat, I'll PM you.

That was very thoughtful of you, Thanks.
It's had to stay on subject sometimes. Even I am still learning the art to it.
I'm just glad to see people still talking because there seems to be only about five of us here right now. Everyone else seems to be gone away for the holidays.
But you're right, we really do need to stay on the subject.

Dec 2, 2010 at the Time Warner Cable Arena...
The Trans-Siberian Orchestra was certainly an event to see. This orchestra is known for its rock/opera blend, and by this being a Christmas show was no exception. Not only was it a musical event, it was also a lazer light show with surprising pyrotechnics. The stage was totally painted black but when the runner, twinkle, and spotlights came to life, we were transported into other worlds with music setting the moods. All throughout the performance stylish clear monitors showed hundred's of still and motion graphics as the monitors themselves moved across the stage. Giant fireballs blasted to the rhythm of the music as they danced across the stage and even out into the center of the Arena- where waves of heat could be felt.

Special effects were used all through the show but I must admit, the first half left me a little dry with all of the story telling of the people reuniting for the holidays. But after the story ended and they introduced the performers and started the second half, it was a total up tempo climb. They pulled out every exciting effect they'd brought with them, flying us all toward the climatic crescendo of fog, multi-colored fire, and a shower of sparks along the backstage wall. Man, what a show!

My most memorable moment was the opera song during the second half- performed on a second stage out among the audience - which was similar to the opera song performed in the movie The Fifth Element with Bruce Willis. WOW!

B U R L E S Q U E -3 Stars
Rated: PG-13 Run time: 1 hr 59 min

A small-town girl (songstress Christina Aguilera) has big dreams of a better life and Iowa does not hold the key. She buys a one-way bus ticket to California and stumble's upon a failing burlesque night spot while watching one of the dancers adjust her costume on the roof. Feeling compelled to go inside she instantly falls in love with the place and starts working as a cocktail waitress the first night. Not long after she impresses the show-club owner (Cher), she moves from waiting tables to dancing onstage and lip sinking to popular songs, until the night when her rival - a jealous dancer - literally stops the music during a routine. And that is the night the small-town girl from Iowa showed up and showed out. She sang her heart out, the house band picked up on their her ques and joined in, the audience went wild, and that is the night the Burlesque Lounge birthed a new pack-the-house star.

Over all, the acting is very good. The music and choreography is entertaining and paced perfectly - not overly used. The script definitely needs a little more work. A cheap shot was thrown in when what was supposed to be a special song written for the new house star, was only an extension of a song that had already been sung earlier in the story. I guess we the audience weren't supposed to be smart enough to catch it. There are scenes of full and partial nudity, suggested themes, harsh language, and of course skimpy costumes. While not the worst movie in the world, it most certainly isn't the greatest. If you're going you'd better hurry because it's on its way out. The AMC Pavilion only shows it twice a day and during my 3:30 PM viewing there were only about seven in the theater - myself included.

I have seen where alot of girls I know really wanted to see that movie. I saw previews and I really didn't see anything special about it. It actually looked stupid to me. Thanks for the review I don't foresee me wasting my time to see it now.

You're very welcome.
I was told it was campy before I went, but not willing to let those words stop me, I went to see it for myself. It just started playing on Thanksgiving Day and already it's going out. Unstoppable started before then and it's still going strong.

I enjoyed Burlesque much more then that horrible attempt at a scary film, Paranormal 2, but over all, what could have been a blockbuster, it was the Burlesque scrip that did it in. I expect it to be on DVD shelves by spring 2011.

It just didn't seem that great to me. Just the thought of Christina Agulara trying to act ugh. Oh and another movie where a big pop singer in real life plays an amazing singer with hidden talent. Kind of like Crossroads, you know the Brittney Spears movie (sadly I saw that). I can't stand when singers start trying to act in movies just to be a singer in the movie, or to have numerous singing parts, if you want to do that just keep up your day job  .

I saw her live at the Arena and I'm only...but enough about me, Hanna was pretty good.
I didn't see nor hear anything about her how her movie did at the box office. It just sort of came and went. I can't believe it was a flop, with all of her fans around. It must have been so bad even her fans spread the word.

This is the last season for her TV show. My nephew keeps me updated on all those silly tween shows. Under his 13 year old excitement and urging I've watched a few with him and I'll be so happy when he grows out of them. What could be used as a powerful teaching tool, Disney continues to produce nutty sitcoms without purpose. Come on Disney...

Completely agree. I was forced to watch my share of not only the Disney tween shows but the Nick ones as well. They annoy me to no end. Horrible acting, horribly storylines, horrible all around.
