Yes that's right. Today I will be reviewing EA's space horror, Dead Space. Although the game is a few years old, it still packs just as much punch as the day it was released.
In this game, you play as Isaac Clarke, an engineer who has no idea what he has just gotten himself into. Isaac begins his story on a repair mission but soon finds himself fighting to survive. He boards the USG ISHIMURA, a large mining vessel, in hopes of fixing the comms array and finding his girlfriend Nicole. Once aboard, the crew is attacked, and as far as Isaac knows, he is one of only three remaining survivors. Two of your fellow crew members, Kendra and Hammond, give Isaac tasks and missions that he must complete if he wants to escape the ship alive.
This title has a very complicated story, and players will be pushed to finish the game and reveal Isaac's fate. You are on the edge of your seat the entire game, and I sometimes found myself screaming at the game when things took a dive for the worst. The story has many twists and turns along with little, if any flaws.
Another thing,
THIS GAME IS SCARY!!!
It is rated M for a reason. This game is by far, the scariest game I have ever played. From dead necromorphs coming alive to crew members commiting their own suicide, you will be frightenned. This game is very bloody, and I do not recomend it to people who are easily scared.
Overall, for a price tag of 20 bucks, this game is well worth the price. I give it a 5/5 easily, and I am proud to say that this is the best game I have ever played. (besides Uncharted 2)
With the sequel just around the corner, I have very high hopes for the Dead Space franchise and the future of Isaac Clarke.
