What ever happend to the signs going up the lift of Thunder Road? Just Wondering.
Grit Your Teeth
Bear The Load
Enjoy Your Ride
On Thunder Road.

Also, I noticed Hurler's Drop is getting some work done while at the Campgrounds the other day.
However, I didn't notice anything going on over at Thunder Road yet. (but there is still time) It's kind of cool to see work in the off season going on.

My friend told me about the thunder road stuff. However I did notice that they HAD laminated pieces of paper saying

grit your teeth,
bear the load,
enjoy your ride,
on thunder road.

These were placed in the turns in the line outside of the station.

All I can say about thunder road is...... BRING THE TUNNEL BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it will stay the way it is. Are you talking about the last part when you dip under ground? Thats like the best part. Actually, from the second chain lift to the brakes is my favorite part.

The same thing happened to the signs that happened to the entire park! They were lost as management over the past 20 years has had little concern for park theming elements. Virtually all the park's theming has been ruined. It is just a sad place to go these days.

I agree that it is VERY sad that over the years the differences that made Carowinds unique have gone away.

And why is it that Carowinds is the only park I know that got rid of every tunnel of any kind? Bats and bees are not just a local pest.

I agree. The tunnel totally made the ride. It's so awkward when you're riding and you start screaming super high pitch... Then you realize there aren't any walls around you and everyone's staring at you.

Wait, that only happened to me? dang it.

Thats Funny
Yeah its not the same without the enclosed tunnel. I guess the only time to experience a fully enclosed tunnel is at night.
But Thunder Road is still and awesome ride regardless. I love it when when the crews race the trains.
