I'd like for them to hook up some strobe lights and an air horn in the final tunnel.

Yeah and add that to the list of reason someone would sue the park, "the horn caused me to go deaf so im sueing the park for 1.3 million"

Yes, a horn indeed could cause damage to the ear. But let me tell you, it would cause dispersion of the crowd on the ride at that specific time. I would like this for entertainment purposes, but I personally do not like to hear horny sounds.

I'm changing my mind and the helix may be getting covered. Look at this picture and you will see that the bracing around the top is new. They are either just adding support to the 30+ year old bracing or covering the tunnel. I think they are doing the first.

Cehas, that piture is made in 2002. Its 2 years old. They would leave it there for two years then work on it now.

The fact that the bracing is 2 years old has not been established (It couldn't be 2 years old [2003-2004]). It has been established that the bracing was added for the 2003 or 2004 season. I am pretty sure 2004. I rode the goldrusher about 4 times in a row last august and there was no bracing.

How on earth could you ride Goldrusher 4 times in a row? Sure it's great every now and then but once you are a certain size it can be kind of painful.

^hehe it's really painfull for my dad! the reason it isn't for me is cause i'm not even 5 ft!

During an evacuation from the Goldrusher lifts, guest come very close to those areas (ie: between the spiral and the exit of the tunnel). Those "guard rails" would prevent anyone from falling in these areas. All are evacuation improvements- no "cover" planned for Goldrusher.

Hmmm, that hardly makes sense. If they were really concerned about someone falling into the spiral pit during an evacuation, a tunnel cover would make much more sense than this so-called railing.

The secret for us older folks to riding Goldrusher - cross your legs! If you cross your legs at the ankles, you seem to fit much easier than sitting with your legs in the normal position, and it's a good bit easier to get the lapbar down. Not exactly roomy, but not too bad.
