There is an event being held in Charlotte at the Tyvola Mall (Tyvola & South Blvd.) where the old Toys R Us store used to be on the end of the strip mall.
It's called the Emergency Liquidation Center Membership.
Hearing about it on different radio stations, "Laptops $199; eReaders and Tablets $99; Colognes and Perfumes $10..." - I went on Saturday, 6-18-2011. The commercial did't tell me it was $5 dollars to enter the door. I went in anyways. What I found was an inside flea market style event which sold some questionable goods. While I found no laptops for $199 nor any eReaders or tablets I was interested in, the constant spirit of buyer beware was lurking overhead. The cologne I asked about was $20 and some of the fragrances could only be bought from the merchant because they were imports. There were also toys present; linen; supposed real leather, sattle-styled motorcycle storage bags; stainless steel jewelry among other types; laptops mainly in the $300 range and some were obviously used - which made me question the ones that didn't look used; sunshades; watches; digital cameras; video cameras; car speaker systems; cheap DVDs; video games; and clothing.
There apparently is some miscommunication in the house because I asked two different venders, how much longer would they be in town? One said 3 weeks, the other said 2. Go if you feel it. You might be more successful than me, who walked out with only the stamped ticked I was given after having paid to get in. My only advice is that you use good common sense, not only there, but everywhere you shop, especially, when the setup is like a traveling carnival designed to quickly part you of your hard earned cash - Buyer Beware. They may act very kind to you at first to get you to purchase their offerings, but when something goes wrong with the item you bought from them, the venders could be nowhere to be found or they could very easily tell you, "You bought it, it's yours, good day," and hang up. Buyer Beware!
