Well June 19th-21st I am off on my 9 hour journey to Cedar Point. This will be my 3rd trip there. Hopefully, Wind Seeker and MaxAir are up and running as well as Maverick, which was down last time I went. Planning on going on that Monday. Staying at Castaway Bay for 2 nights in which I got for $270 which aint bad plus the $29 CP tickets with 1 hr ERT. Also going to stop at White Castle on the way up and down about 30 sliders.

Have fun. I'll be up the week before you. Staying at the Best Western on Milan Rd. Nice place to stay and it's reasonable if you book early.

Have a good time. MaxAir was running this past weekend when I was there. Don't expect Windseeker to be running any time soon. Word from the park is that they are having technical issues getting it to spin properly.

Just got back from Cedar Point and Kings Island. What a fun trip, can't wait to go back. Till then I have to only dream about riding Beast, Top Thrill Dragster, and Millennium Force. :(

Lines will be less during the week. One thing I would suggest would be to bring some bug repellent. The lake gnats are getting bad right now at night time. In the middle of July, the gnats get better but the lines get longer. Another bit of advise is to enter at the soak city entrance back by breakers. easier way to get to the better rides faster.

Yeah when I went a lot of the rides were walkons. The big rides like Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, and Mavrick all had lines, usually at least 30 min. However the lines are expected to be longer in July. A bit of advice is to wait for Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster front row, even if it is a 30-45 min extra wait for front. It is worth it.

I hope lines aren't to terrible in August. I was planning a trip in July to KI and CP but alot of things came up and I had to bump it to the 2nd week in August possibly. I'm so sad I had to push it back but between just starting a new job and having to have all my wisdom teeth cut out I don't think it would fit in very well. As long as I make it this year I will be happy though. Glad you had a great time and the lines weren't too bad for you.

Just got back yesterday.

Lines were best on Thursday but it was cloudy and rained a little. A lot of the bugs died off after Tuesday and weren't as bad Wednesday and Thursday. After talking to one of the locals, the bugs were Mayflies and they are only around in may into mid june. Otherwise the bugs weren't that bad.

Windseeker was open but I didn't ride it. It looks really cool at night though. The light show reminds me of the Duke Energy Center in Charlotte but much more involved.

Millennium Force is definitely my favorite coaster in the park. On Thursday I road it 5 times consecutively.

Also got stuck on the hill on Mantis for 20 minutes. When something like this happens you get to cut in line for Millenium Force or Top Thrill Dragster.

Ran into a family from Greensboro in the Millenium Force line and the asked me to compare the ride to Intimidator. LOL. I told them there was no comparison. MF is much better.

Didn't really like Magnum XL200 this time around but I have a better appreciation of Maverick. Last year I didn't like Maverick. This year I thought it was cool.

The only ride that wasn't running was the Sky tower ride and after the storms on Thursday, they closed the skyride for the rest of the day.

There's also a new restaurant at the park called Pink's which is a Hollywood-based restaurant. I wasn't impressed. It took them 3 tries to get my chili burger right and it wasn't very good. Neither were the fries. Johnny Rockets was much better.

Just got back from my Cedar Point trip and it went as about as good as I could have hoped for. If your planning on going, its basically straight up 77 to cleveland, then straight accross the Ohio turnpike to Sandusky. You need about $8.25 for tolls. Stopped off at White Castles on the way up to down like 30 sliders then on to Sandusky. Got to Castaway Bay around 1pm, got the water park passes and spent the afternoon there. The water coaster was pretty cool. They also have a rather large arcade for a hotel and the themeing of the hotel was nice especially the huge pirate ship in the lobby complete with snoring parrot. I was definitely impressed. I've stayed in hotels that cost alot more than the $129 a night I paid at Castaway Bay and they didn't even compare. Very good place to stay. That night it was Thirsty Pony. Heh and I filled up on wings and a Sloppy Pig. If you have never been to Thirsty Pony, their wings are the best. Now on to Cedar Point. Got discounted tickets with ERT from castaway bay, and we all headed for Millennium Force. In the hour of ERT that we had, we were able to ride about 4 rides. It was an awesome day, the threat of rain combined with it being a weekday, scared away alot of people. Every ride was a 30 min or less wait. Top Thrill Dragster did break down right before we got to ride, but it was diagnosed and fixed in 15 mins which was kewl. We didnt ride Iron Dragon as it appeared to be down all day. No Biggie. Ok now for the new ride, Windseeker. You find out rather quickly how it got its name. At 300ft, the wind around Lake Erie is intense. The ride doesnt spin too fast, but it doesnt have too, being up 300 ft is intense enough. We went back later that night to check out the lights on it and it was absolutly gorgeous. Lunch at Mainstreet market is the best deal at the park. The food is decent for being a buffet. Its $12 for adults and includes a drink.

Just as some added info, if you are planning a trip to CP, and are a bit on the heavy side, CP has quite a few rides that are not fat friendly. Millenium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Wicked Twister will be difficult for a big person simply because of the seatbelt and not the harnesses. Its like the seatbelts are shorter than they have to be.
