Well its already the second week for carowinds and again borg was broken down. After working for 8 1/2 hrs today I took a drive to carowinds to ride borg and it was broken down again. Did anyone get to go today and ride it? I got there around 6 30 and the OP staff was leaving it so im guessing they closed it for the day. I hope they get the bugs fixed in this thing soon! I hate to see it down all the time but like i read somewhere it said that Stealth was ALWAYS broken down lets hope that dont happen to BORG! I wish it would have been up i wanted to ride it sooo bad O well maybe next weekend....
:P

Yes... the ride ran on and off until 3:30 or so... when they closed it until around 5:30 or 6. It was then promptly shut down after they evac'd yet ANOTHER train on the lift hill around 6:30 or 7. I got one ride in at opening (5 min wait, 2nd train out) and one ride with an exit pass as soon as it reopened at around 5:30 (first train out... back row :)) Overall it was a good day for me... but not for many parkgoers. Oh... and btw. Hurler, Vortex, and Top Gun are kicking some MAJOR *** this year. Never has there been so much airtime on Hurler and so much "numb leggedness" on Vortex and TG. Vortex is just blowing my mind so far this year... it's like a new ride!!! Oh... anyways though... yeah I hope they get it working.

Yeah, I got to ride it, and it was great! I waited for about 1:45 after the park opened to get on. Actually, for a while I was scared sh*tless because the anti-rollback dog was not working right. Thankfully, it started working again before I got on at about 11:45. I considered going around for another ride, but decided that I wasn't going to wait 3 hours, just for it to shut down, which turned out to be a good decision. :P

Yeah.... I noticed the anti-rollbacks not working for a while as well lol. Although I think the trains are equipped with 2 anti rollback systems... 1 silent one like Ricochet's and 1 loud one like the rest of the coasters. Isn't Runaway RepTURD silent as well?

I coulda sworn that it said this coaster had a quiet lift....that definately isnt the case... i dont know where i saw that o well its as loud as vortex and cyclone if not louder. How were the antirollbacks not working?

I spent all day there just like last weekend, had almost the exact same experience!
Got in like about 10:10 or so, finally made it up to the steps about an hr or more later, and theres a "Temporarily Down for Service" or whatever it is over the intercom. I was like UGHHHHHHH. Finally I got and rode, and the ride seemed MUCH better than it was last week for some reason. But i noticed after noon i think it was, it was closed off and i saw the guys working on it at the top. I didnt see it run the rest of the day myself. I was disappointed not to see the second train running again. Any clue whats going on with it?! Eithe way, I love carowinds, but it cant look good for them, that there new coaster is down like 80% of the time.

Hey all...my brother and were out at the park today and everything was running great! Although the 2nd train is still on the transfer track (I wish they would get it on and running)! We got in line at 10 a.m. and up until we left around two there wasn't a single breakdown! Trains were being dispatched about every 5 min (maybe??) so, the crew has gotten a little faster. We got 3 separate rides with the longest wait at 45 min. Hopefully it will run like this from now on and they can get the 2nd train on to speed up that line cause...it sure is hot hot hot with that sun starring down on you!

I think the most obvious problem is the ride op's. They are mostly all new except for that black lady on top gun who knows exactly what shes doing. I got on the vortex and what was normally a 5-10 minute wait ended up taking 30 minutes. We were on the block segment for at least 2 minutes after the ride was over. They should train the op's better before putting them on the job... <_<

Okay,
if the "bad" ride ops are such a big deal to you, I'd suggest not coming to the park for the first month it's open. The beginning of a season is almost always like that, and some crews just take longer to get comfortable.

I went last Saturday as well, after processing my season's pass, I headed straight for Borg. I could not believe the beautiful themeing and how they let you walk right under the track...definately builds excitement. I too noticed the that chatter of the rollbacks was not working on the lift hill. I think they say its a silent lift becuase the chain does not rattle and it is enclosed in a track, but it is weird that it does not run continuously like most lift chains, but rather stops and starts with each train. The lift kept stopping on about every 4th or 5th run. They were only running one car. They stopped the ride twice while I was in line, but after about 2 hours I made it all the way up to the platform. They stopped it for a little longer to do some test runs....it seems very smooth when I runs, very quiet coaster, not roaring like the B & M Vortex next to it! We finally got up to the queues to board and they closed the ride! Thank god I have a season's pass! That was around 2:30 or so...we left the park around 5 and it was still closed, there were mecanics on the top of the lift hill working on it. I give Carowinds some credit, they are trying to make it run and they keep telling you what is going on, I have been to parks were you see that they are testing it, but they never tell you that it is being tested, it was nice to be notified.

I was curious how this ride would do after a "rebuild", I know I heard stories of it being plagued with mechanical problems when it was stealth and yet it seems like such a great coaster. You would think that Vekoma would want to pitch in and help to fix it seeing how it was the FIRST flying dutchman in the US, such a Milestone should be fixed. I believe it seemed like sensors at the top of the lift hill were stopping the train. I would be curious to talk to someone on the crew at Carowinds to see what is really going on with it.

I will keep trying until I ride it.

As a side note, did anyone notice how fast the ascent up the lift hill was!

-see you in line! :)

I was literally only about 15 people back from getting on the coaster when it broke down for the rest of the day. Ugh!

At least I have been assimilated twice before, and I'm sure I'll get my fill tomorrow at the commercial shoot. :D Resistance is futile.

Actually there's more coasters like that than you probably know. Gold Rusher does the same thing. If you watch it (while waiting in the 2 hour que for Borg) it does the same thing.
