Trying to google search brings up literally no news since about December. ZooMiami was apparently looking into buying it but nothing since. I am curious as well.

I was actually called last fall by someone with a prospective buyer who had read my trip report on my website. We spoke at length about the condition of the ride, and they wanted specific details of where some of the problem spots with the track were as they couldn't actually turn on the power to run the coaster. They seemed optimistic about it, so hopefully something ends up happening. It is a fantastic coaster, and with the potholes fixed, it would just be amazing.

Apparently, they are taking it down carefully, piece-by-piece, and have also told people that no souvenirs would be possible. Is this normal? Why wouldn't they just bulldoze it? Could there be a buyer lined up?

Maybe someone is buying it and they want to remove it carefully for that reason. Either way, it's very interesting. Hopefully we'll hear more about it soon.
