Wait a second, does this mean that the LED lights on windseeker will only be operational during snoopy's starlight spectacular? Unlike the other parks, which turn their lights on at around dusk?

^ I Dont think so, I think it will just look nice IN ADDITION to it... maybe they will do snoopy starlight more next year? I am still trying to figure out exactly where this is going to sit..... Do you think they will take out that make your own slushie stand or something? She said near the entrace to the snoopy starlight spectacular...so that means it has to be around there somewhere... interesting spot for the thing, but I guess its pretty close to the center of the park perhaps? I really hope they start construction soon so it will be able to open on time....

The Coaster Critic wrote:If you're heading south on 77, just past Uptown there was a billboard that Carowinds was using to advertise Snoopy Starlight. Now that it's over for the season, all the billboard has is FURY is large steel-themed letters with a black background. Does anyone know what that could refer to? It seems like a really odd advertisement for a company. There's literally nothing else on the billboard. No phone number, web address, tagline, nothing. Just FURY. I Googled "charlotte fury" and the top results were about the local dragon boat racing team.

Anyone know anything? Could this be a teaser for the new ride? It doesn't have a wind or Wright Brothers look at all. By the way here's a link to the announcement invite with more of the 'first flight'/Wright Brothers references:

you can hear the music during the entire ride on the one at cedar point. i'm assuming it's the same for the others .

From my understanding it will be the grass spot next to the back side of the Nighthawk path. You can kind of see it here.

That spot has been empty for a long time, I always pictured a flat going there, and Windseeker could look real nice, if they don't fill too much of the lake in. :?

$51 million over 5 years. That is a lot of money for improving the park. Although almost half of it went to Intimidator lol.

I was about to comment on that as well.. I'd wouldn't mind seeing some transparency that seems like a lot to me. Maybe some comparisons with some other Cedar Fair parks could be interesting.

Intimidator - 23 million
Snoopy Starlight - 1.5 million
Windseeker - 6.5 million

Cobra - ?
Bondi Beach - ?
Yo-Yo - ?
Southern Star - ?
Paint - ?
Pavers - ?

Ah yes I guess I could see it going there.. cant wait to see some construction start. Do you think it will begin before the end of the season?

JamminJ beat me to it. I was just posting the same info except I also added trash cans for the fun of it.

I would also think that amount includes the work on TR and Hurler.

The carowinds site says construction to start later this fall, but I'm assuming they'll wait until after Scarowinds to start. That way they'll have free roam and not have to worry about closing off that walkway in front of where the entrance to The Asylum is.

True, but they wouldnt work on weekends anyway... so the paths would be open for scarowidns etc. I mean they could start now if they wanted (if they havent already) during the week since the park is closed. I might just have to venture out this weekend or next to see what is going on. I havent been since coasterstock...

Yes it would be interesting to see, not that they are going to ever release it. I have to imagine that in the same time frame Carowinds has to be up there in terms of amount of money put into the park.

not surprising since sister parks are getting them. I JUST hope they dont get rid of the skytower or put it in front of intemadator.
