General Carowinds discussion

I think that Carowinds needs a tall rollercoaster. What I mean is that here all these other parks have coasters that are over 200 foot tall and here we only have a 115 foot tall one. We really need a tall and fast one. What does evyone else think?

i would LIKE to see one, but it's highly unlikley, they have no room for one!! they'd probably have to take out a few roller coasters and other rides to gt a hyper in there.

what carowinds DOES need are some crazy flats(cough*ZAMPERLA*cough), zamperla has some wicked flats, Go Here and watch the video of some of them, they're CRAZY!! espicially the Top Star Tour.

I think carowinds needs some flat rides also. I wouldnt mind a taller faster coaster. I think they should expand the park out beside thunder road in that parking lot they never use that theres quite a bit of space for sum flat rides or a coaster. I think they need to make drop zone about 100ft taller than it is. :P

We've been there and done that before with this thread. I'll bite anyway....Although I would love to have a Hyper (200+ ft.) it's not a must for a park to have. There are plenty of parks (great) around that do not have this. In fact there are more parks without hypers than parks with. Just for example...PKD, SFOG, BGT, IOA etc...

And yes Trev32 we do need some flats. Also you would be surprised with what they could do with a Hyper if they ever decided to build one. It could be easily installed without having to remove another coaster or expand the park. Just use your imagination. Although Hyper's have big footprints, they can be designed to intermingle with other attractions quite easily.

I understand what yall are saying. I do wish that we had some more flat rides. I wish we could have a Delerim (excuse the spelling) or a Drop Zone like the one at that other Paramount Park (I don't remember the name) that's 300 ft tall. I would like to see it rotate around just like that one too!

I think I will go with some type of Adam's Family ride since Lurch and Uncle Fester already hang out there. It would be so fitting.

Carowinds is an OK place to stay, but changes are needed! One thing is a new and faster hyper, or a shuttle coaster. Well they can move the Employee parking lot to the campground area and maybe fit a hyper in there!

Carowinds needs some hi tech flat rides, an Intamin hyper and a GCI woodie similar to Thunderhead! I'd also like to see some type of large ferris wheel..

I think what Carowinds needs is for people to go and enjoy and appreciate the park for what it is, and complaining about what it isn't. C'mon now people it's not even into the 3rd weekend of operation. Just go and be happy, and enjoy Borg and everything Carowinds has to offer.

And Trev.. why say they have no room? I'm sure no one ever thought Cedar Point had the room to fit a 300 foot coaster, *and* a 400 foot coaster in the span of 4 years... Carowinds has more than enough room to put anything they want.

Remember Carowinds prides themselves on being a Family Theme Park. Due to that they rotate years of kiddie attractions and Adult attractions.
My wish list is a long one and you could actually build a brand new park with my wants but you know something, that is what vacations are for to me. I can go anywhere I want to and ride anything I want which is sweet.
Carowinds is a rock solid park and is really only missing a couple things one of which are flat rides.
We have all but a couple types of coasters which is more than most parks can say. Our coasters may not be as long in ride time but are pretty intense and fun from lift to station. I am not a big fan of midcourse brakes as it never fails to slow my ride down so I love our 2 minutes rides.
I can only hope that this next off season they do as much for the kids as they have done for the entire park this year. Think about it for a sec, that would be a huge amount (Lego Land !) Then the following off season will be for adults and thrill seekers so with what we have you can imagine what we might get. I don't think Carowinds will go cheesy on us but ask yourself this question, Would I rather have a big bad and fast coaster or would I rather have a few flats? As for me bring on the Themeing and the flats(do indoor attractions count as flats?)

I think that Carowinds has plenty of room to expand and could easirly build lots of new rides around the parks perimeter, especially out near the Platium (excuse the spelling.) They could especially do this on that long drive to the parking lot, I mean, that would be a perfect place for a new coaster or mulitple flat rides. Whjat do yall all think about this spot? They could especially build a new coaster out around the employee parking lot, and out near Drop Zone and all the other rides around the Hurler.

I agree with everyone....the park is a great place to visit, but it IS missing something...there is improvement and I see that they are putting some money back into the park. Attendance has been up so that is helping.

I would love to see Carowinds get a hypercoaster, but I wonder if they have any restrictions on airspace because they are close to the airport?

Personally, I would like to see the Hurler removed and a hypercoaster put in its place. I have never been a fan of the Hurler (aka the teeth rattler)...I rode it last saturday and swore that my car had square wheels.....I am all for some roughness in a woodie, but it was like riding in the last car on the Mean Streak at CP. The Zamperla flat rides look great! Talk about whirl and hurl! HUSS makes a new one called Jackhammer that would be awesome...so would something from S&S, like the power tower at CP (which has been dwarfed by Superman at Six Flags in Texas 310 ft!)...I really enjoy being shot up 200 + feet on an S&S. At the very least, it would be great to have a high, fast coaster! Intamin rocks!

Does anyone know if we can email in suggestions to Carowinds? It would be great if we could voice our "wish list" to Carowinds.

-see you in line!

Not Hurler :( . I would like to see a hyper but hurler is a good wooden coaster.
