If I am not mistaken, i don't think anybody guessed the correct location of the windseeker. I sure hope they do not fill in too much of the lake. Would this spot be where the zombie Stan mikita stands? I guess they need to find a new spot for him, maybe where the Borg sphere used to be?

^I believe one person suggested the confirmed Windseeker location.

CodyDL suggested 2 locations, and one of them was right.

I posted pics of the spot where it was going on 8/11, although I didn't make any prediction that it was going there.

By the way, I did write about my behind-the-scenes experience for the announcement yesterday. Since I'm not writing about amusement parks directly in my personal travel blog anymore I won't paste the link here out of respect for Carowinds Connection. If you are interested, links for future things I write about are in my travel blog but I won't be linking to them directly anymore since they go to another site.

I would have never guessed it would go there haha. I still think county fair would have been the best location just to draw more people over there, but hey thats just me. Its just going to be weird seeing the skytower and then this other 300' tall tower right behind/beside it fairly close.... Oh well, I am ready for construction to begin and I will definately be there on opening day (or at least the opening day for the ride if it gets delayed  )

I would think they have all the issues figured out that they ran into for the last four installations. That is a good reason for them to start on this sooner rather than later.

Yea, and even though the sky tower is slightly taller, I feel like the Windseeker will overshadow it a little bit with them being located that close together.

This thread has slowed down a bit. Thought I would throw something in. Although this ride was not my number one choice I will be positive and point out a few things. First of all, we do need a flat ride and we are getting one. Might not be the most exciting flat ride out there but I will have to say that being 300' in the air in a little seat will be rather thrilling for the majority of the riders. Second of all, it will look awesome with the lighting on the ride itself, plus with it being near the Starlight area. Great addition to that. Third of all, it will improve the skyline. Fourth of all, I am glad we are getting this ride in it's second year. I am hoping the bugs will be all gone and we will have some smooth operation for our Windseeker.

Agreed. I like many would prefer a Huss GF, but this is still something that I am very excited to see put into the park. I will be at Carowinds opening day 2012 to ride this.
