Yeah, I sent an email to a higher-up contact I have there to ask about something else. While I was at it, I asked about the Afterburn repainting and got a confirmation that it won't be done for 2012.

reading between the lines, my guess is a new paintjob would take some of the attention away from windseeker. Also I think it means not much will be going on for 2013. Some Paint, maybe replacement for SB, I dont expect any new rides for 2013.

It's Carowinds 40th anniversary next year and you don't think there will be a new ride. I think they will build something new and new paint job on Afterburn but I don't know the future that's just my guess.

WTF does Cedar Point have against Green coasters.

KD's shockwave has now gotten the new "Raptor" color scheme as of the 2011 season & it sure beats the crap outta the awful blue/orange/green color that paramount gave it in 2000....when & if AB gets repainted I agree that it should keep the original colors of blue/silver since that makes the ride what it is & makes it stand out really well.

If carowinds was going to repaint afterburn the very lasted they would've started was January. I agree it should have the same color scheme but I think ricochet should get repainted along with it as well.

JamminJ has informed me that it was confirmed at C3 that Afterburn will be repainted with Patriot colors for 2014. I loved the original color scheme so that's a bit disappointing, but at least it is getting some new paint. Cedar Fair seems to really like making things bold and colorful, so I'm not surprised they are going away from the gray.

Great News, imo. Sad to see the old colors go, but they were fading anyway. I'm glad its gonna get a nice make-over. Lol.

I, Personally, think this expansion is going to help with the feeling of the park. Those vibes you get that make you excited when you get to a new park, that's what I hope to feel every time I go to Carowinds. And to see them not only adding new attractions, but also touching up the existing one, is great!

I hope they find a new painter. the paint jobs on some of the rides of late, have been horribly sloppy.

I would almost rather it be inverted (pun), red supports, and blue track with white stripe, just so there isn't another red coaster track coaster.
