Anybody, who went to carowinds this past weekend, noticed the cut the vines and trees off and away from the once was cave, which is now a green structure with the fence roof, that you take to get from carolina plaza to thrill zone smh loosing more shade

They had to replace the structure over the off season. My guess was that it hasn't been replaced since the park opened in 1973. Hopefully the vines grow back quickly over the summer.

It has been repainted since the 1990s atleast once. Furthermore, the arbor shade was not part of the park in 1973.

Really? Any idea when it was installed in the park?

Actually, I think that is a good question and pertinent to this topic. I'd like to know the answer myself. I remember it being there in the early 80's.

The original arbor collapsed in the late 80's, and then was replaced. The 1st one was rounded, not the pointed one we have now.

It should growback fairly fast,KD had to replace their "vine" tunnel leading to the grizzly/windseeker area last year after the snow we had damaged it during the 09/10 offseason &it grewback fairly quickly.
