I'm planning the annual trip to Cedar Point and was looking for recommendations of places to stay. I don't need any place real fancy but don't want a dump either.

The past two years I stayed at the Best Western Plus on Milan Rd and it's been fine (except maybe a little toasty), I was just looking for an alternative. I would consider trying one of the CP resorts just want to see if anyone has any experience with them.

Thanks

Let us know what you think of the place. When are you heading up?

I should be up there either the 2nd or 3rd week in June. We are also hitting up Kings Island.

I have only ever stayed at lighthouse point in the campground. The campsites were clean and well maintained and it was quiet. We found it to be a bit pricey: It was the most we have ever paid for camping. That's to be expected, though, since they have limited land.

The shuttles ran quickly and conveniently, though, and dropped us off near the entrance to Soak City when we chose not to drive to the Soak City Parking lot from our site.

When we go back to Cedar Point, we'll probably stay at their on-site campground again because it was convenient and so well maintained.

If you don't mind a short drive, the Best Western Plus is a nice place to stay at about $100 - $110/night depending on how far you book it in advance. The only problem I've had there is that the air conditioning in the lobby is always not on, not working or whatever because both times I've been there it's been extremely hot. But the AC in the rooms cranks up nicely.

The funny thing is that it's right next to this tattoo parlor called Pleasure or Pain. lol.

I'll see what Breakers express is like. Yelp doesn't give it good reviews but I'll be spending most of my time in the park so I don't think it's going to be too bad.

I haven't posted here in months, but I came on just to warn you of Hotel Breakers. I REALLY warn against staying there. The room I stayed in was covered with sand and the place appears to be falling apart. Hands down the worst part of my trip there a couple of years ago. Very uncomfortable. If I were you I'd go to Sandcastle Suites if you wanted to be on the peninsula. Never went in, but from the outside it looks MUCH better than Breakers. But it could be better now, or it may have been a fluke. Have a great trip.

I stayed at a Travel Lodge off the peninsula when I went. I just went to travelocity to find a cheap room since I wasn't up to spending a ton of money on a hotel that I would only be in for the night, I am at the park like an hour and half before opening and there until closing so honestly it didn't seem worth it to spend alot. It really wasn't that bad actually, it was very clean and was a comfortable nights rest, although the lady at the front desk was quite rude but whatever lol.

Well if you're passing through PA, I would also swing by Hershey Park and ride that new Sky Rush coaster. Looks like a great ride.

Sounds like a fun trip. Wish I could make it up there this year. Want to ride Millenium Force ... And be sure and stop at Frisch's Big Boy for me. In Ohio, they are still popular and use tartar sauce on their burgers rather than thousand island. They even have drive thrus, and there is a location on the exit road next to King's Island. Also Skyline Chili is good up there. But I digress ...
