I'm am from Charleston, SC. I have not been to Carowinds in 5 years. I am an adult with Boy Scout troop is planning on going the weekend of 13-15 to Carowinds. We will be in the park on the 14th. we will be camping at Andrew Jackson State Park in SC. So we will be there when the park Opens. What time do we need to be at the gate? (The campground is about 45 minutes from the park.) What coasters do i have to go to first if I enter in the North gate. I need a route planed so the kids can ride every big kid roller coaster. Please help Also, it would be nice if i could get a downloadable pdf of the 2011 park map, as long as it is not against Code of conduct.

Many of the questions you have can be answered here:

I don't have a 2011 park map, but the official website has a 2012 one, though nothing is labeled.

Here is a 2009 map I scanned in with labels, but doesn't have Intimidator or Windseeker obviously. Also it has all the pre-Camp Snoopy names, doubtful the boys would want to spend much time in that area of the park anyway.

Ho long would it take to get mailed a gold pass for Carowinds, and does that pass only allow one vehicle free parking? Thinking about ordering one today, April 4,2012. Need help

When you order a season pass online, you print out the receipt at home. Then you come to the park and get your season pass processed. It's a pretty quick process. Also it is only one vehicle that gets the free parking perk, however it does not matter how many are in the vehicle.

Now do I just show the printed ticket to get the free parking the first time entering or do I have to have the gold pass in hand to get the free parking? How does that work?

Yes, you get the free parking with your receipt. They'll scan it just like they would for your season pass.

I have a question - it sorta goes with this subject so here it is-
I have a change to go to Carowinds for the first time this weekend (Saturday the 14th), however I would be going by myself (it will be less than 2 hour drive) - I don't mind going by myself but if it's going to be really busy (like it was last weekend as I heard), then I will just wait to go next month with some friends. I'd like to go several times, so as long as the lines will not be horrible this weekend then I'll make the trip up. From your past experience, will the lines be lighter this weekend since spring break/Easter passed and kids are still in school?

Like any amusement park on a Saturday, lines will more than likely be long. You should still come because it's not a Holiday weekend(Saturday). You should be fine. Always ride Nighthawk first so you can have that line out of the way. Then, you can really enjoy the rest of the day. If you want to spend the extra cash, go the,"Fast LAne" route.
