Im just wanted to say that I am over joyed to see the improvements carowinds has made over the winter hiatus. It's good to see that they have shifted their ffocus to the handicapped with most of the coaster having there exits revamped to accomodate wheel chairs and I've seen elevator shafts as well and new wider sidewalks with gradually inclines epsecially the one comeing from the season pass parking and new wider family/hanidcapped restrooms. All the little things we do really think about in our daily lives that the handiapped have to are being adressed thumbs up carowinds!!!

Arby,

I loved your story/article. I don't see a reason not to post it on this site, but of course we don't have any trouble clicking on the link either.

Nice to see these things happening at Carowinds. Kinda makes up for the Fast Lane. :)

Today I mustered up the strength, courage, and willpower to brave the pain of the Vortex. It was terrible as usual.

However at the ride exit, right before the area where you walk under the lift hill is a new area designed specifically for wheelchair-bound folks. It was really well designed, with an elevator and new smooth pavement. It's the little things like this that make a park great.

Not to be negative but if you are in a wheelchair, can you ride vortex. Now for some trivia, Hurler was the first ride to be built with a wheelchair lift.

There are signs that say not sit on the seat, and I do why you aren't supposed to. One word, Ouch! A bicycle style seat at couple G's is a pain in the crotch.
