Volcano is said to be shutting down for the season to start a rehab project. They will be modifying the ride to accommodate 3 trains. per screamscape.

Wow... this is interesting news... I wonder what kind of mods will be made.... I dont really understand why this ride needs 3 trains either, its not like it lasts 5 min or something, and it hurts your shoulders. Maybe they will mod the trains with better, softer, restraints, or make the launch faster so those barrel rolls arent so slow... Cant wait to see what kind of modification will be done and if i get to KD this year, I will be sure to check it out!!!

Rumor has it they're gonna add a dual load station, personally I'd rather see this ride just removed, the mountain scrapped & a B&M invert added instead as volcano's layout just plain sucks IMHO.

^I cannot see that happening. Too many people like this ride. Highly doubt that will ever happen.

So can anyone confirm when and if they are going to start the rehab? Because my friends and I are planning to go in July and I'd really like it to be open.

Next best thing would be to add a B&M invert in the other side of the park....if dorney can have 3 inverts than KD can get away with having two.

^Hopefully B&M will start making inverts again. Defiantly can't outrule the idea of having a B&M invert added to the park in the future just because they have an Intamin invert.

I agree, layout is boring.

B&M never stopped making inverted coasters. Oziris just opened.

Very few are being built now a days. None have been built in the United States since 2006 when Worlds of Fun opened Patriot.

Other than mmmmmaybe Valleyfair and Kings Island, there isn't a major park in North America that doesn't have a full circuit inverted coaster.

B&M didnt' stop making them, or even stop making them for US parks. There just isn't much of anywhere to build one anymore.

If La Ronde can have a B&M Invert and a Vekoma SLC, I see no reason why KD couldn't add a B&M invert either.
