General Carowinds discussion
#49004
Investors will get their first look at Carowinds on June 27 (Wed) when Cedar Fair LP will hold its annual shareholders meeting at the Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge in Charlotte. I am certain they will be impressed. I personally feel that CF has done an incredible job of maintaining Carowinds, especially after the mess Paramount made (IMO).

Don't worry, you are not the only one who thinks that.

I agree that they should be impressed with the progress the park has made in such a short time.

The article says somewhere in Ohio is the usual location. So most likely Cincinnati (Kings Island) or Sandusky or Cleveland for Cedar Point. This could actually mean future investment into the park. Carowinds is trying to be the Cedar Point of the South, time for them to show the investers why it should be.

Holding the meetings in Charlotte is not an indicator of favortism towards Carowinds in particular as the meetings were once held in Sandusky and as we saw back then it played no part whatsoever in wether or not CP got singled out for preferrential investment.

Cedar Point however is the flagship park, so it is more of a default location to have a meeting like this there. I think it does mean more if it is out of their normal location.

I think some people are reading way too much into this. You will see this quote at the end of the original article:

Ms. Frole [the head of investor relations] said Cedar Fair is looking at rotating the annual meeting more often to sites near some of its parks.

I have no doubt that CF is going to continue to invest in Carowinds since the Charlotte area has so much future growth potential, but I also don't see any special preferential treatment.
