I think a new water slide may come when they (probably) change the water park to soak city in coming years and the dino attraction next year possibly. The company has slowly been trying to make all of the parks they own similar to have the same vibe in my opinion.

Cedar Fair's Facebook page said this today...

The annoucing for the CedarFair Parks 2013 Investment will be held on June 13th, 2012. Name will not be given, due to the hands of the managers opinion, and the designs are kept as a surprise from the park, we will only just possibly announce the manufacture, type (Wooden, steel, stand up, floorless, etc.) possibly the height, length, etc. It will all be announce to the 13h of June! Not all information will be announced on that day, we are working on gathering more information at the park! Stay Tune!

Interesting that Cedar Fair is announcing anything at all before the usual attraction announcement dates in August. 2013 must be a huge year for the company.

I think one thing that I'd like to see happen at the park is a renovation of the Goldrush coaster area. Not necessarily a renovation of the coaster itself, although I could put up with some larger trains...

In my opinion something should be done to block the view of other rides from Goldrush, to give it a more "In-the-woods" feel. More gold mining theming throughout the area would be nice, but I think just a general landscaping update would do.

Like a lake.

You're telling me. I am 5 foot 10 and I barely fit into the trains. I can't imagine how my taller friends fit into it.

I agree, I'm really tall for my age ( 5 foot 7) and I'll agree that goldrush can be very uncomfortable. A good way to avoid this is to sit in the front.

My goodness, what is your secret?! I love Goldrusher too! Just wish the trains were just a little bit bigger.

The front row, of each individual car on Goldrusher has more leg room. If your on the tall/or larger side, those are the best seats for you to sit in. (Cross your legs as well)

There is supposed to be some sort of announcement at the Cedar Fair board meeting in Charlotte next week regarding future plans. Hopefully that will include another big coaster for Carowinds.
