On the WOF blog they made it clear that anniversaries aren't usually marked with major ride additions in the CF chain when someone asked about it so I'm sure the same holds true for the other parks in the chain as well.

I'm thinking DA will be coming to carowinds next season with a major ride or coaster coming in 2014...CF has other parks that need improvements such as MIA & even CGA & that's just to maintain, rather than increase attendance.

I have a feeling what carowinds will be getting soon, is not what you guys expect or want. I think it is a forgon conclusion that Carowinds will be split into two parks. Creating Soak City with separate admission. The only way that happens, is for carowinds to become worth the price of admission for just the park itself. Thus why they added Intimidator, windseeker, etc..

I honestly don't see that at all. Carowinds was the first park to include the water park into it the price of admission. I don't see them changing that up not only for that reason, but mainly because they would most likely loose business from this move. People would hate it too much.

I agree, it has been a part of the park for so many years that people would be very upset. And to be successful as a separate park, it would have to be improved greatly IMO.

Exactly, Carowinds itself may be worth the price of admissions, however the water park is far behind.

For some reason I have a feeling that it's gonna be pretty slim in terms of new for 2013 additions at CF parks as the rumor mill has been pretty quiet so far aside from what we already know about CP & CGA.

this is a wish, NOT A PREDICTION!!!!!!, but what if for the 40th anniversary, Carowinds got a roller coaster/ flat ride that was (40)0 feet tall. I know that they didn't do it in 2003, 1993, (etc...) but we did get nighthawk (Borg) in 2003 and that was a big ride for Carowinds

If they were to split the park and water park (don't think it will happen now), they couldn't possible charge more than $20 a person the water park just isn't big enough. Compared to white water atl, dollywood splash country, emerald point. And those are,t but around $45 adult one day. Just my 2 cents.

Carowinds is fine the way it is with both parks combined. Dorney Park & Kings Dominion is the same way. Every Cedar Fair park is diffrent. Besides, it would be hard to make a seperate entrance to Boomerang Bay due to its location. As far as a wishlist, Carowinds needs to keep adding on to its current collection of rides. Boomerang Bay could use a few more slides though.

if we were getting something big for 2013, we would already see land clearing and maybe some groundwork going on. My bet is something new for the water park, which is desperately needed!

My bet is that next year's new thing is not going to be any bigger than Snoopy Starlight Spectacular. The lack of construction, and the fact that the park has dropped tens of millions of dollars in the past two years backs up the theory that they're most likely just going to introduce some new shows or exhibits recognizing their 40 years of operation.

Well in 2002 both carowinds,as well as KD got Ricochet mouse coasters & ten years later windseeker.I really think 2013 is gonna be a low key season for CF though as none of the parks have even hinted at anything new awside from CP & CGA.
