Was at the park today (Fri. 4-9). Happy to say that BORG was running 2 trains. Kept the lines to a minimum wait. Hopefully this will be the norm from here on out.

I was there today as well. It was certainly good to see that second train on, although they were stacking rides all over the park today.

My brother and I was at the park today for a while and was GLAD to see the 2 trains on The Borg! The wait time is cut in half but, they still need to do something about that cruel sun....something to block the sun!

Saw that BORG was running two trains, figured that might be a good sign. That it went down later isn't, of course. Hopefully it'll be something minor. Has BORG made it through an entire operating day yet without suffering a fairly major delay or full closure?

Hurler was down when I went by it about 11-ish. I couldn't see a train on the transfer track, but could tell one was in the station. Not sure if the other was parked on the lift or somewhere else on the ride, or if it's in the shop. I was looking forward to checking it out since Thunder Road was running VERY well. TR has been trying very hard since Scarowinds last year to bump Hurler out of my favorite woodie and second-favorite ride spot at the park - and it just might do it with some more rides like today.

I too noticed the crews were VERY slow. I didn't recognize any of the Top Gun ops - I wonder if they have the college kids working that are home for the holiday, to get them some hours / experience before summer hits. I don't think I've seen any of the Vortex crew before, either, and that one was slower than usual.

I didn't stay long, since the lines were getting longer by the minute and there was a SERIOUS throng of people at both the ticket booths and the metal detectors, the SP parking was full, etc. Of course I got there after 10 so I didn't do myself any favors, but it's a bit harder to get motivated to get up early when they don't have ERT lol

Hurler opened at around noon with both trains, and it was running decent, but still not the airtime that it once had.

I agree Jonathan. I rode Hurler today around 5ish. This was my first taste of Hurler this season. After extremely dismal performance in '03, along with the addition of seatbelts, I hopped in seat #2. I normally ride the front but the line was too long. At first I held out some hope. Not a bit of squealing could be heard anywhere on the ride. That is usually a good sign. Not the case here though. The overall ride was OK, but there ARE problems. The trains are doing some serious "hunting" on the turns. It's appears to be poor gauging but I cannot be sure. I use to love Hurler and the moments of floating air. What has happened? Maintenance needs to get off their butts and bring the Hurler back to it's former glory. Until then, I will stay away.

Yeah I rode again today and there was some massive shuffling going on in the turns. I still like the ride a lot, but it's definitely no longer top 10 wood material in my book.

Went to Carowinds (for my b-day no less) yesterday afternoon and Borg is back down to 1 train!

It was strange.

The train on the storage track has half the seats up, half down, but not all in a pattern. Like 2 in the back were up, 3 were down, 2 more up, etc.

Did it break again or something? I guess that's obvious.

The line was the usual 2 hr wait, so I decided to go ride everything else, and when I came back at 5:15 they had closed off the line, so I didn't get to ride it. But if I had waited, I probably wouldn't have gotten in so many rides on the other coasters.

Talking about Hurler...

Yikes! it was rough yesterday. It wasn't nearly that bad on opening weekend, it was actually really smooth.

I wonder what's going on there???

Ya, I was there when they moved to the train to the transfer track. Sadly enough I didn't witness it since I was too busy trying to get people out of line (see my post in I've Been Assimilated). When they did there were about three maintenence workers messing with the coaster. Later on I jumped in line again and noticed that (as what bgwfreak said) some parts of the train had been lifted up. I wasn't there when they closed off the line since I had left at 4:00.

As for Hurler, I did notice a roughness increase with the coaster and felt the same thing bgwfreak said. I miss those days of the airtime on Hurler.

^ there still is airtime on hurler.....

but hurler was pretty rough yesterday... but in my opinion it was running great, it was going really fast and me and my dad were getting loads of airtime.

Yeah I was getting airtime on the 16th, but it was "rumbling" down the track, not smooth at all. It was one of my worst rides on Hurler, ever. :(

Well, I meant the days of the extreme airtime on Hurler.
