This thread will serve as a similar thread to this one as a general place to post amusement park news and rumors pertaining to 2013 attractions.

EXCEPT for Kings Dominion stuff which will go here.

First off lets not bury the lead...

GATEKEEPER AT CEDAR POINT leaked on their website today. What is it about Cedar Fair's inability to keep their websites secure? Whatever looks like a pretty sensational B&M Wing Coaster...

Announcement on Monday with full stats and video I suspect.

Rocky Mountain Construction's first actual coaster is actually a wooden one, and not the steel hybrid like Texas Giant. This 107 foot tall lift will make use of SDC's natural terrian and drop down 162 feet. It will feature the steepest drop on a wooden coaster - 81 degrees, as well as the 2nd fastest at 68 mph. And also the world's ONLY looping wooden coaster, and first with a double barrel roll.

GOLD STRIKER AT CALIFORNIA'S GREAT AMERICA - Announcement August 29th

The long awaited GCI woodie is finally coming to CGA. Six years of development hell and stadium malarkey. Here is the layout that was proposed 6 years ago, who knows how much it's changed since then, if at all.

"FULL THROTTLE" AT SIX FLAGS MAGIC MOUNTAIN

Not much is known about this, but it's rumored to be a multi-launch coaster and break a record for tallest loop.

RATTLER AT SIX FLAGS FIESTA TEXAS

The Rattler at SFFT is being heavily modified in some way (like Texas Giant is rumored), but I don't think anyone knows exactly what's going on with it yet.

SKYSCREAMER AT SIX FLAGS NEW ENGLAND and SIX FLAGS OVER TEXAS

SFNE already received permission to build their giant Star Flyer, and SFOT is taking out two rides for theirs. Most of the Sky Screamers around the Six Flags chain have been relatively short (150-250 feet), but these two are rumored to be massive (350-400 feet).

More to come...

I'm late to the party and this is the first I'm seeing of Outlaw Run. Can someone give me the details on this? It looks pretty cool but how is this loop supposed to be any better than Son of Beast?

It's better because it's not on SOB. The loop wasn't the problem with that coaster. Can't wait to get out to Branson for Outlaw Run, and Gatekeeper looks exciting enough to get me to The Po!nt. was planning on a west coast trip, gonna wait for those two west coasters to open. And I wonder what will happen with Rattler. I doubt it'll open for 2013, but 2014 will get me back to Tejas if they have two Rocky Mountain coasters...

It took Texas Giant from November of 2009 to April of 2011 for the renovations to be completed. The Ratter is scheduled to open in the spring 2013, however I have no idea how they can get it done that quickly because the Ratter is massive coaster. We will see. The Rattler always had the potential to be a great coaster, now it looks like it will finally take advantage of how great of a coaster it can be.

As of today there are large parts of the Rattler that have been took down. I think they will have no trouble having the coaster up fo 2013. Got to have faith folks.

I didn't think there had been any announcement or even steing rumor that Rattler was opening next year? I mean so far they just said it was going bubye with no inclining that the Iron Horse treatment was anything but rumor. I mean, I hope it is, that rumor has been around for a while. But I never heard 2013. In fact I thought Alan Shilke said one new coaster for 2013 and two projects for 2014.

It would get me back to Texas sooner. That's for sure.

I did read opening spring 2013 on Wikipedia, so that is a possibility to not being backed up by a source. For me, it does not make a difference for if it opens in 2013 or 2014 since I wont be in Texas till at least 2014. Hope we get more info about the Rattler soon.

Edwardo wrote:No, the Coaster Preservation Club was tacky. This is brilliant.

After 9 years, you are mentioning something that everyone has forgotten about. It wasn't tacky, it was just downright stupid.

After 9 years we've tried to forget. We just don't mention it much in trying to be kind.
