Knott's Berry farm is removing Perilous Plunge around Labor Day. Sad to hear this news because I really liked this ride. However this does bring the rumor back for a Giga Coaster to the park. The park has not had a major coaster added to the park since 2004. The park is long overdue.

I have my trip booked for my first ever trip to Cedar Point and King's Island. I can't wait!!! GateKeeper definitely looks like the best Wing Coaster. I can't wait to ride it and of course all the other great coasters at Cedar Point. I haven't heard much about King's Island getting anything yet. With SOB coming down, I wonder if they have time to put up anything there for next season.

Have fun! The trip has been a blast the past two years I have gone. Word of advice is that the Fast Lane is 100% worth it at Cedar Point. I would advise getting it at least one day that you are in the park.

Iron Rattler and Full Throttle look impressive, especially Iron Rattler. I loved how the old Rattler hugged the cliffs. Hopefully I will get a chance to be in San Antonio some point soon.

This is actually quite a down year other than Full Throttle and Iron Rattler you have what a few Sky Screamers and a bunch of waterpark stuff?

I can't help but feel bad for Six Flags St. Louis getting a used boomerang. Carowinds was in that position in 2009. SFSL is a really nice park with a lot of history. Hopefully Six Flags makes the right move and gets em a big Goliath-ish hyper for 2014. Also even though we've known about it for ages, *daps* must be given to California's Great America and Cedar Fair for FINALLY getting that GCI woody off the ground, it looks pretty awesome. Talk about a neglected park.

Six Flags Mexico is set to make an announcement on September 6th to introduce a Gerstlauer spinning coaster themed to the Joker. (This coaster was Pandemonium at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom before it was removed for Superman this year)

Somewhat lost in the malarkey SCBB announced Undertow a Maurer Sohne spinning coaster, to replace the old Hurricane.

Is it mean or is Six Flags really stepping up there game? Don't get me wrong there has been some rides moved from one park to another which is good for the general public in each market and very little for the enthusiasts but it seems to me that Six Flags is making good use of their properties and their own attractions. Cedar Fair has essentially wasted some good rides for scrap that could have been good just to transplant to another park. I'm not complaining that CF is focusing on new state of the art attractions I just get the feeling there is a TON of waste going on within the company. Does anyone else agree?

And by the way did anyone notice that the layout for Gold Striker is the same exact layout that was on Screamscape several years ago?

Oh and Iron Rattler while looking amazing can it really claim the first wood coaster with a barrel roll when Outlaw has two and has been talked about longer?

Cedar Fair seems to be investing its money quite wisely in areas where it matters. In my opinion (which is incredibly uneducated, I apologize), Six Flags is going to go under from these huge investments. A lot of the new rides, while incredibly attractive, are not going to drag people to the parks.

Cedar Fair is bringing Giga's and B&M's into the game, while most of the Six Flags parks appear to be building new slides and swings. For the amount of money invested in this HUGE Six Flags update, the return isn't going to be as great. All of these rides (from the coasters to the shows to the slides) are being built too fast, Six Flags won't get enough profit to pay off all their construction costs. Cedar Fair is gradually building big rides that make a name for the parks that they're built at. The gradual building aspect + the big ride aspect = money better invested in my opinion.
