Scarowinds website went live, no new maze listed but a new scarezone Mass Acres: Before terror took hold there used to be a ‘safe’ path between our torturous, twisted and sick attractions… Not anymore!! Our new ACRE of fear is unavoidable and more intense than anything you’ve experienced outside of a haunted house before! Mass Acres features hoards of the living dead arisen from their burial sites…..and they want revenge

Wow, what's interesting about mass acres is that you can see its constuction via the webcam.

I wish they would add some Freddy Krueger's, Michael Myers, Jason's, Chucky's, Pinhead, and all those other creepy horror people. It would make the experience much more enjoyable and scary. They also should have more chainsaw guys wandering thru the park as well. It was ok last year, but it was more cheesey than scary.

I'm not trying to troll, or be rude or anything but that's a terrible idea. I love SCarowinds' original characters like Lila, Barnacos, Charlie Boots , Whiskey Bob and the others. Also, we can't add those because Universal Studios owns most of them. But yes, I do agree we did lag plenty of chainsaw men last year. And the chainsaws were so fake too. They were like the Party City kind .

Well it is supposed to be an acre.. but I think they're making that instead of a maze

Ah, it's alright, I understand people have their own opinions.I too liked SOME of Scarowinds original character's but all they pretty much did was just stand there and expect you to be scared of them. Not once did any of them like accually try to scare me...my expectation's were that I was gonna have people jumping out and chasing me and the only time I got that was during the Dead Inn, Cornstalkers, and the stilt guys. I also understand about the whole Universal rights issue with Freddy, Jason, and Michael, but they could always pay to make Scarowinds better. To be honest I was more scared at Fender's Farm in Jonesboro, TN. I just really hope it's atleast somewhat more scary this year.

Freedie, Jason, and Micheal are not properties of Universal. Universal paid the fee to use them in past and present Halloween Horror Nights in Florida and Hollywood.

Dimension Films owns the rights to all the Halloween Franchise while New Line Film Productions Inc owns the rights to the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th Francises.

And the reason to make a trip down to Universal in the Middle of Sept and Ocotober is to go to Halloween Horror Nights. Once you go then you will understand why.
