Thanks for the bring a friend dates! && yea, I had a brain freeze, I was thinking wait a sec, Universal doesn't own that. But I really do think Carowinds should use them, it would make it accually scary. But it sounds like I'm going to have to make a trip to Florida to go to their haunted nights.

I'm going to be completely honest. Here's the pros and cons:

Pros:
-Lots of space to work with.
-The actors are pretty good (they get better after the first night).
-The theme was consistent.

Cons:
-Maybe TOO much space to work with.
-There needed to be more actors.
-It didn't feel like anything new. At all.

It was basically that area by the Boo Blaster's decked out with a few tombstones and mausoleums. They had tombstones there last year, so I wasn't sure if I was in the right place or not. I didn't even see a sign for the scare zone. First impression: "This is it?"

The actors are all different kinds of zombies (zombie chef, zombie cowboy, etc). They all felt like they had some kind of huge backstory they weren't really telling, but I'm sure after they have time to practice, things will get better. There's no real flow to it like Feeding Frenzy, Playground, and The Cemetery. It's 100% the most open scare zone in the park, which is a good and bad thing.

Overall, it will disappoint those expecting something grand and huge. However, it was a fun thing to walk through! I personally enjoyed it quite a bit.

I had a great time last night myself...

Things I enjoyed the most were Asylum, CornStalker and Last Laf in 3D. Fury was pretty good also.
Dead Inn was disappointing. They let too many go thru at once. So it not easy to get scared in there.
Defex had a few good startle moments. The other two we could not find.

Also, on the Scarowinds map thing they had something called FEAR, but we never found it either.

Playground was cool. Lots and lots of fog. The cemetary was good. the other hot spots we did not find.

Here's my favorite to least favorite and why:
Last Laff: The clowns ALWAYS put on a good show, they're very humorous and insulting in a funny way. 9/10
Defex: LOUD but always fun ! 8.5/10
Asylum: Though it was lacking something... It was still really neat 8/10
Silver Scream Sinema: This one had good actors and very neat victorian-like outfits 8/10
Dead Inn: I never liked this one because it was too scary (it still is) but something about it made it really awesome this year 7/10
Fury: Even though the theme is horrible, I love the atmosphere, but it was also lacking actors. 6/10
Camp Killauee: This one just didn't do it for me. It didn't have hardly anyone working it, and no chainsaw at the end, kinda a disappointment. 4/10
I didn't go in cornstalkers.
Scare Zones:
Feeding Frenzy: Those vampires ROCK! (Get it ? ) 9/10
Playground: The tots are always fun, but cut down on the fog a little in there ! I can't see a thing. 7/10
Cemetary: Lacking actors and I only got scared a couple times. 5/10
Mass Acres: ...what? I really didn't understand this. I really hope it gets better. :/ there wasn't even a sign.
4/10
And what is FEAR?

There wasn't a chainsaw at the end of Cornstalkers or Last Laff either, which is basically a must! Also did anyone here see the guy(haha I know his name, but it's for the best that I don't say it here) that walks around the park with the saw? He didn't have a real one last night, he had some really fake looking and sounding chainsaw!

Overall though, I did enjoy myself last night. I wasn't expecting it to be perfect in any kind of way, being that it usually takes the first weekend to work out all of the bugs. Going again tonight with a few other people, so I'll let y'all know how much it improved from last night!

DefeX is underneath Intimidators first drop and Silver Scream Sinema is inside of the back outside turn of the Hurler.

We had a good time Friday night. Here's the comments I would give to Carowinds:
- There seemed to be a shortage of 'actors' this year. A good number of the mazes appeared short-staffed.
- A few of maze props need some maintenance
- Thank you for the addition to Fury - it was appreciated in a formerly desolate area
- Please bring back chainsaws.

As always we had a good time. Like most who went this past weekend, I'll be back a time or two before the season winds down.

To clarify it even more, please bring back REAL chainsaws! Those electronic ones look and sound fake.
