You also have to remember that their PR manager left just a couple of months ago. It takes awhile to get someone new and get them up to speed. I have a feeling they are scrambling as far as announcements go, etc., and just trying to keep their heads above water. Usually a new PR manager makes introductions here and that hasn't happened yet so I bet they're swamped.

LOL is it possible that the thought of getting Dinosaurs Alive next year could actually deter passholders from renewing during scarowinds?

^ I'm not renewing. Not because of Dinosaurs really, but more because I want to visit Dollywood and maybe make another trip to SFOG next year. I am expecting our next "big thing" in 2014 then I'll get another pass.

Funny how back in August of 2011 I mentioned the Dino Alive coming with the expansion of 61 acres. As long as it generates revenue that will be ok.

i highly doubt they would use the new purchased land for DA considering it's not connected to the park anywhere that would allow access from inside the park.

I doubt it is going to have a direct impact on season pass renewals. The significant increase in season pass prices along with a new attraction that is not included in the price will impact season pass sales.

Even though CF hasn't done this before, if for some reason DA is not an add on attraction then it will help justify the increase in pass rates and probably not have any major impact on season passes.

Wonder where DA is going, my bet is South Gate area and the Crossroads Picnic area based on the fact is a nicely wooded area and Carowinds' haunted trail history.
"Smurf Island": 2000-2003
Under log flume: 2004-2008
Windseeker area: 2009-2010

^I heard that is exactly where it is going. We are suppose to be losing Joe Cool's Driving School for DA as well.

Hey everyone! Long time, no talk. Been a Season Pass holder since 2000 with our family of four. Have to say that the price increase is very surprising. Does anyone know why for the large increase? Didn't I pay $59.99 each for the "early bird" Gold price for this year? Have to say that no matter what the attraction is being added it is not worth almost an additional $100 per year for four. Love to hear opinions. Thanks from a penny pinching dad.

In my opinion, a season's pass is worth it depending on how often you plan to go to the park. If you got a season's pass and you go at least two times, you do get your money worth. This year I got tripple my money's worth. I went to Carowinds 8 times, plus Scarowinds the opening night and at least 2 more visits to come with Scarowinds 2012.

So my fellow friends, the way to look at if the pass is worth the price is to ask yourself how many times will i go and remember the FREE parking instead of the $12 and plus FREE Scarowinds.

Remember, a regular at the gate ticket for a single day is $55 which is more than half the cost of season pass.

That just my opinion.

I would say be glad the passes are still that cheap. An annual pass to Busch Gardens Tampa is currently at $119.99. Of course you get year-round access, free parking and in park discounts too. Also tho I don't care for it (or Halloween events in general), Howl-O-Scream and the new Christmastown (which I would love to go to) are NOT included either. I'm just glad I am still on the old rate of $10.01 a month, including tax, ($120.12 a year) for BGT and Seaworld Orlando combined; basically what a one park pass is now. I'm basically on a month to month, but am sure after awhile I will be forced to do an actual renew at the current rate. Until then I plan to enjoy it while I can.

I plan on getting a platinum pass as long as our trip plans work out for our trip to Carowinds, Cedar Point & King's Island. I'm glad they have a monthly payment option on those now.

As far as Dinosaurs Alive...eh I knew it was coming. I'll visit it at one of the parks listed above; probably Cedar Point so I can get on the island and views of Millennium Force.
