I havent seen much talk on the fourms lately so i decided to make a new topic!
What Park improvements does everybody want for 2013? not rides stuff like merchandise,food, scenery etc. put your own ideas and comment on others

Heres my list:
More Creative and diverse food options
More landscaping(specifically trees)
Better entertainment(Shows that arent musicals!)
More Food and merchandise in boomerang bay

What are your ideas????

Afterburn repaint that they have been delaying for some time.

I like all the ideas so far, in addition to a Ricochet repaint and continuing to add pavers around the park.

Ok, in all seriousness. Carowinds use to have a Train, Cable Cars, Paddle Wheel Boat, Mono Rail, and Trolly. Most parks have atleast 1 of these or some form of transportation around the park besides your feet. I would love for Carowinds to bring back the train. Also, add something to the rapids, anything. some pyro would be nice. maybe a fog maker in certain points so you cant see when your about to be soaked. Street Magician or something other than the peanuts roaming around the park would be nice too. Carowinds arcade might as well not exist. Its ridicoulously small, the games are outdated and the prize machines hardly ever pay out. If and when Carowinds does expand into the south gate parking lot, I would like to see them construct a new building for a giant arcade. People need a new place to get out of the heat and rain, an arcade would do nicely. Need more vending machines that take credit cards. The entrance to Carowinds is boring. How bout puting up a bigger sign or something to get guests excited.

They tried to improve carowinds arcade this year, I thought it was better but still not many people use it, I suggest they keep the laser maze challange and turn the rest of the arcade into either a store or a restraunt. I like the repaint ideas, andI like the idea about better park music, one thing I forgot to mention in the original post is I always thought something was missing in the carolina boardwalk section, I dont know what it is though

Since the dinos are going over near the edge of County Fair area, it would be nice to see some TLC back there. The prior idea of painting Afterburn is a great idea as well as starting to make that area look like what you expected to see when you go to a County Fair.

I have nicknamed the county fair the "Trailer park" that area of the park in my opinion is really trashy, and the theme of a county fair is really no where to be found.

In my opinion the swinging ship should have been placed in the boardwalk section of the park, why would a viking ship be in the middle of a county fair?

In my opinion the park needs to do major re-theming in the following order and ideas for each area:

1)County Fair
-Removal:
- County Fair Ice Cream, (Basically a mobile home reused for the sell of over priced ice cream)
- Southern Star, (Move to Carolina Boardwalk)
- The $1 a play game right beside Boo Blasters (again an trailer with a game inside, looks bad)
-Additions:
- In place of Southern Star install a Ferris Wheel the size of the Americana at Kings Dominion
- A water park entrance in between Dodgems and Thunder Road
- An Octopus style ride in place of the Current Free throw shooting game.
- Theming that resembles the Story Book Circus Land opening in Florida.
2)Thrill Zone
-Removal:
- Drop Tower (Has had troubles with maintenance lately, not very tall)
- Skyflyer (There is ALOT of space there)
- Go Carts
-Additions:
-Power Tower, 4 Sided, 2 up, 2 down, drop/lauch tower.
-In place of Skyflyer, new launch coaster, takes over space in bus lot.
-Jukebox Diner, extended to be sit down restaurant.
-Trees, Trees, and more Trees.
-Screamin' Swing Placed where Go Carts were, swings over Hurler track.

I'll finish the rest when I have some more time.

I like where you are headed, but get rid of thrill zone and make it a new blue ridge junction. Oh, and put scream weaver back in county fair where it belongs. And yes southern star in that big empty space by the restrooms across from cobra would make so much more sense. Re-work the entire thrill zone and bring back a Carolina theme. Hey, hook the rapids entrance into that section...just something I would like to see. To me the park is more of a draw if it has a unique theme to it over all, and the carolinas have a lot that you can work with.

Hmm, lets point out something. County fairs have rides, food stalls and games that are mounted on what...Trailers! The only real way to improve the County Fair theme would be to rip out everything including Yo Yo and bring in trailer mounted versions, toss them down on grass or asphalt using wood to level them. However, I will point out that to my knowledge, Scream Weaver is actually a trailer mounted ride. The County Fair theme is very loose because visitors would complain if it actually looked like a fair of any kind.

~Return of Boardwalk Stage but inside Pier 73.
~Reopening of Carolina Cove
~Return of jet smoke to Afterburn
~Return of tunnel to Rapids, Thunder Road, Cyclone
~Enclosed brake run of Goldrusher
~Full repaint of Ricochet and Afterburn
~Removal of walkway around Arbor Shade
~Removal of switchbacks at Afterburn
~Reopening of side B of AFX with 4d effects
~Remodel of older restrooms
~Demo of Amphitheater, addition of cooler storage at upcharge and free picnic area like Emerald Pointe has.
~Landscaping for the old Plantation Sqaure train depot.

I was thinking of a less liter interpretation of the County Fair - all those that I went to growing up. While they had portable rides, all of them were brightly lit - the same with the food vendors - there were bright flashing lights everywhere, with the smell of food cooking throughout the area. A lot of those also had some kind of 'side show entertainment.'

But alas, this thread has morphed into an extension of the wishlist thread and less of a productive 2013 improvement idea thread.

Do something like Cedar Point did bringing in something unique into the park that you can't get anywhere else. Pink's Hot Dogs was fantastic. I had it both days I visited Cedar Point. Maybe they can bring in something like an In-N-Out Burger into Carowinds?
