I really wish they would rename it Gauntlet again. Did they slow down the ride cycle for that ride? It's seems to me that it was a little faster than it is now. I never did understand why that ride is themed to planet snoopy.

Knott's Berry Farm 2013:

http://www.amusementtoday.com/knotts-announces-new-additions-for-2013/
UENA PARK, Calif. — In their continued efforts to re-invest in their property and enhance guest experience, Knott’s Berry Farm will debut new family attractions to the theme park’s Boardwalk section during the summer of 2013. This multi-million dollar development will include three attractions designed for families. The area will further enhance the feeling of strolling down a colorful California Boardwalk fun zone filled with amusements, games, and fun food offerings.

The addition to the Boardwalk section was made possible by the removal of Perilous Plunge, the Intamin Mega Splash Shoot the Chute ride that had been installed in 2000.

Additions to the Knott’s Boardwalk Area will include:

Coast Rider — Mack Wild Mouse coaster
Surfside Glider — Larson Flying Scooter
Pacific Scrambler — Eli Bridge Scrambler

The Mack Wild Mouse and Larson Flying Scooter rides are new acquisitions. The Eli Scrambler was in storage after having been removed to make way for Pony Express. The Scrambler will be refurbished by Knott’s maintenance.

History shows looping wooden coasters fail...
Since they are adding Timberliner trains, my assumptions are they are not replacing the track with Iron Horse track. It will interesting to read the reviews for Outlaw Run.

Well since there has only been one, that isn't enough to show a trend.

I think something really impressive that's kind of getting buried beneath all the wooden coaster barrel roll news is GCI's shuttle wooden coaster concept. While this one looks small, it really opens up lots of new possibilities!

Here is a POV concept GCI just posted today-

Historically yes. However, these new coasters aren't doing loops. They are doing inversions so the differences may be enough for the coasters not to fail.

Well to even compare wooden roller coaster doing inversions to the ones 100 years ago is ridiculous. That was long before any roller coaster could do a loop/inversion. The only one you can compare it to is Son of Beast, which failed for many other reasons. I dont feel any of these inversion wooden coasters will fail due to the companies building them are reliable.
