Just curious, how busy is Carowinds on a pre-peak season Saturday (April & May)? I've been on a Satuday during peak season and I know how busy that is, just wondering how they compare.

It isn't too bad, especially if you go on a Sunday. You should have a pretty light day if you go to during pre-peak season.

Usually on Saturdays during this time of the year, Carowinds does school band and chorus competitions. It is generally fairly crowded (with unsupervised schoolchildren no less), and since the waterpark isn't yet open, they don't spread out.

If you go before noon though it should be fairly light.

And to add to what JamminJ said, most of the buses are gone before the park closes. The last 1-2 hours of the park are usually a walk-on for just about any ride.
