How many people think Carowinds should get a live webcam to see whats happening in the park everyday i mean Cedar Point has it why cant are great park have it also and when the season is over turn it off so we cant see whats happening for the next season

Thats a good idea i think they should do that. I always like to know whats goin on in the park. If they had that i could check to see how long borgs line was to decide if i want to go or not..

How could you plan your trip just by the webcam? It would be a cool feature, but I really don't see a purpose for spending yet more money. I just don't think many people would use it. And those things screw up alot.

I always thought a web cam on top of the tower would be a great idea, expecially during the off season. Just to get a little sneaky peak behind the fence. :D
The money it would cost to host and maintain this would not be that much but is probably more than they want to spend as there are alot of factors to be considered if it would pay off or not. As stated above if you saw the park crowded you wouldn't want to go which is what they don't want I'm sure. Also, I am sure they want to keep the park as full of surprises that they can for those who have not visited the park. You sure don't want to show everything you offer, just show enough to tease you.

No one should plan their trip based on a webcam's view of BORG's lines anyway. Besides, if the park were to have a webcam it would probably not be pointing towards a que line. It would be in a neutral area I am sure.

I was told by a park official that they did do a time lapse construction video of BORG from beginning to end. They had the cam on the Skytower. I'd love to see that. I keep thinking of the Rapter time lapse video that Cedar Point did.

Maybe I'm just too jaded in my thinking but would a webcam be all that exciting? I'd rather be at the park then watch it. Personally, I'm rather glad they didn't do one during Borg construction now. I think back to some of the forums during the building of Top Thrill Dragster. "They're putting a piece of track up!" "Did I just see a train test?" It really got monotonous and old really fast. Like I said, maybe I'm just too jaded in my thinking.

When I worked at PKI in 2000 They had a Web Cam that was Aimed @ the Thirll Zone Near Drop Zone. I wasen't Live However it Updated the Image every 15 min. Now see a Paramount Park has Put a Web Cam on thier web site. However I did last check and It is no Longer there.

There is a cam on the skytower, but it's for internal use only. They also place a cam pointed at all park additions, started since top gun.

At SFOG the Atlanta DOT has a webcam mounted on top of Great Gasp to monitor I-20 traffic patterns. There was a way you could access it over the internet a few months agao, but I lost the website URL.

Does Carowinds have anything similar for the DOT or anyone else?
