Since the Kings Island speculation will come to an end tonight, I thought I would start a thread for Dollywood 2014. Dollywood is obviously building something new for next year.... What do you think it will be? I think it will be a coaster of some kind, but Ithink it will be more "family" oriented, only because they just got Wild Eagle. Who knows, hopefully it is a launch coaster.

From what I know the rides name could possibly be "Fire-chaser Express."

If you look on DWfansite you can see the hints that they are giving for the ride next year. Looks to be something pretty big, just have no idea what... Maybe a launch coaster? A mine train coaster? What do you guys think..

Launched coaster maybe? The "It'll be a BLAST" sign seems like it could hint that.

I love Dollywood and feel it's a very well rounded park. If they get a launched coaster of any type, that would be icing on the cake.

I'm in the dark on this one since it's not Kings Island's Invert, but they've never had an attraction that I thought was a bad move, save for the Timbur Tower (and that was a decent ride, just poorly executed by the mfg).

So I'm excited to see what they get. Anything will be good, IMO.

I remember going to Dollywood in 2011, just before they announced Wild Eagle and loved it! The park had great theming everywhere, not just the front of the park like Carowinds. I agree with Edwardo that a launch coaster would be the icing on the cake for Dollywood. The question is, what kind of launch?
A S&S launch like the Powderkeg at Silver Dollar City?
A Strata or Freefall Coaster? (VERY UNLIKELY)
A Full Throttle type of coaster?
Inverted Launch?
A family launch like Verbolten?
A Cheetah Hunt type of coaster?

What do you think? For all we know, it might not even be a launch.

Retheme and upgrade to Blazing Fury? For as many people as Dollywood attracts, they could use a multi ride package.

I am with you guys, I think a launch coaster would be great! I LOVE launch coasters (my fav is FoF). It kinda makes sense with the it'll be a blast... but that could also have something to do with the themeing... like... dynamite... so I am also thinking a mine train coaster perhaps? I know that rumors are someone from DW was at europa park so that does make sense for the launch coaster, not sure anything really points to a mine train, other than the name "firechaser express". Maybe its moonshine named Firechaser and its a themed mine train that is taking the moonshine out of the mountains I have no idea at this point really. I think a launch or a mine train are my 2 top guesses at this point. And now that Banshee was announced, that blue track at the B&M plant is obviously not theirs because its not the pink color that banshee will be... so would it go to Dollywood? I doubt it because its blue and wild eagle is that nice blue color already... I guess we will just have to see what the clues are for the next few weeks. I am really looking forward to the announcement and it its a launch, ill be there on opening day.

It would be really odd if Dollywood built a new adult coaster just two years after Wild Eagle, but stranger things have happened.

What do you guys think of the new coaster? I really want to see the layout and a POV of the ride. IT seemed as though the announcement was more focused on the resort than anything else. I think this will be a good ride for the park, at least its launched. I was surprised to see that its a gerustlauer though and not mack. This is definately not a "must" for me on opening day but I would still love to get to ride it, I am guessing this will be pretty heavily themed, wondering if the trains will resemble a firetruck or a train, since the website has the train on it and all.... Looking forward to seeing the layout and everything whenever they post it, not sure why they are not posting it yet? The resort looks nice as well but I can see it being far to expensive for me...

The park is still in the artwork and POV creation part of the process. Look for all of these things to be released over the next few months.

Awesome! Cant wait to see it It was just surprising that it wasnt released with the announcement, but I guess its mainly because its not a HUGE attraction, at least not as huge as the resort. Cant wait to see the renderings and POV as I know they will be great.
