I say yes, if the weather stays nice.

Also, a lot of the Gen. Public I've been talking to are saying they want to go out to Carowinds this year, and haven't been for years. So it could be pretty busy this year. Which is good for park (and us too, cause then they can afford another coaster soon) lol :D

If they don't make it to 2MM it will be close to that figure.

I've already helped them 4 times with visit counts ha ha. :)

I think one other key factor into PC acheiving this goal is that all the re-theming and additons to the park in the past few years. Many families are amazed at how Carowinds 2004 looks so unlike what they saw in the mid to late 90's. Other than Carolina RFD and County Fair everything else is brand new to the GP. I know many people/families that have bought season passes this year for the first time just because they were so impressed with the park.

I agree 100% with you.
I know of 5 families where I work along with several singles that have bought passes over the last couple weeks due to me talking about how the park looks and feels this year over the last several. I went from 2 years ago saying I was not buying any more passes to I can't stop going. That kind of made everyone abit more interested on why I changed my mind.

Does anybody know if they add Scarowinds attendance into the park attendance figures? Since its a *seperate* "event," I was curious.

Good question - My thinking is, yes, it is added to the total attendance although I am sure they keep a separate tab on file for Scarowinds attendance too.

Yeah I've been talking a lot about the park this year too, for the first time in ages. I've been to the park more times this year already (about 5 times, 7 if you count media day and commercial shoot day) than I had been probably all of 2002.

I was not happy with the park back in 2001 :o , and that's why my name I picked was bgwfreak (on TN), then I just made it the same on here to not confuse everyone. Cedar Point and Busch Gardens Williamsburg are still my two favorite parks, but this year Carowinds moved up a bunch of notches on my list! Maybe even in my Top 15, I'm not saying Top 10 park yet, but they are moving in the right direction!

All that said, there's not been a General Public "buzz" about Carowinds this much since Top Gun, and it's not just about the new coaster either.

:D

If Borg is really good we may have more repeat visitors this year.

Do they count how many guests per day (pass holders each visit, etc.), or how many ticket sales per year?

Also, do they include Scarowinds attendence?

Also, Park attendence all around should be up this year, we are on the rebound and dispite Gas Prices and some other factors, people are spending again. And many people are ready for an escape from the lack of the past few years.

I think it's counted as number of visits, period. I've been to the park 6 times already (I know, I'm crazy) lol but I'm sure they count that as 6 admissions.

And I'm sure they count Scarowinds in the grand total, it's probably broken out seperate on their records though (carowinds).
