This might appeal to the "older" crowd more than the younger.

I was curious those that have been going to Carowinds for say, maybe 10 years now, do you like the Arcade's now, or back then?

I would say I like them back then. I love pinball games, and you can't find anymore in Carowinds that I know of.

Unless they added some this year. I haven't really looked much in the Arcade near the backside of Goldrusher (near Borg) yet.

And now the old arcade near FSS is gone. So arcades seem to be a vanishing fad.

I guess since everyone now has a PS2 or XBox at home, it doesn't really appeal to that many people anymore. :)</span></span>

Give me Pac-man, Frogger, Pole Position, and Pinball any day over the junk that's out there now.

Now you have to take out a loan to spend an hour in the Arcades.

One Dance Dance Revolution machine can intertain me for hours. Man that game is so much fun! :D I like almost every arcade with DDR that I've been to. The carowinds arcades have good games but their just too darn expensive.

I remember when all the arcades at Carowinds had Skeeball & Pinball Machines.

Now it's all about DDR!

Give me the 80s stuff. Frogger and Ms. Pac-Man are still my all time favourites. I was floored when I walked into that arcade near the exit of Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood and found such classics as Dig-Dug, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaxian, and of course, Frogger. Of course, this being Kennywood, the game selection didn't surprise me. To me, today's games don't have that fun factor like some of the older games. Sure it might be fun to go around shooting mobsters (Grand Theft Auto series) and zombies/monsters (Resident Evil and Silent Hill); but I truly enjoy the classics from my younger days.

Looking over my PS2 and GC collection, I have the newer stuff like Grand Theft Auto, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, the Final Fantasy series, Metroid, Zelda, etc. But, a fair amount of my titles are stuff like Activison Anthology, Intellivision Lives, Midway Arcade Treasures, and the Namco Museum. That doesn't include stuff for the PS1.

I do like skeeball but just never play it. For some reason, I just don't get into games at parks that much. Probably Kennywood and maybe Knoebels was the last time that I played anything at a park. That's been several years now.

Talking about classic games, I was playing Ms. Pac-Man up at Nascar Speedpark last night. It had Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga (another classic) in one unit.

Those were the days... I used to spend hours and hours at Eastland Mall (when it was safe) in Charlotte. I bet I've spent over $500 maybe more in those classic machines lol.

I was playing a combo Ms. Pac-Man(original slow version)/Galaga last weekend at this club in Charlotte and I'm so use to the fast Ms. Pac-Man, I couldn't even break 10,000 on it! Plus, it was 50 cents and I just couldn't bring myself to play it again. So, I went back to the patio....

While i was never a gamer i would have ot say i would want the old stuff back. The arcade that was in the location where RRR is now was awsome. It had all the car racing games skee ball all things an arcade should have. I still havent grasp the concept of DDR being that its just an electric jennifer lopez!! lol lol lol Personally i get my dance moves the old fashion way (by watching sooooouuuuul train) Why does everyone go crazy over that game.

I remember when i was at IOA and these 2 folks where playing it the boy (i guess showing off his skills) LEAPED over the bar behind the thing and continued his "game" that had to be the funniest thing i saw in a theme park. What do you win anyway..................

It seems as if most of us like the older Arcades as they just had a higher Fun factor.
But, since it is all about DDR check out this video:
