General Carowinds discussion

Paramount Parks wasnt in debt, Cedar Fair from buying Geauga Lake and Six Flags was. Paramount was the only Major regional chain at the time not in the red....part of the reason they were sold. Furthermore, Cedar Fair's ride operations policy has increased wait times by cutting ride op positions and increasing dispatch time by making the dispatch slower.
So yea, Paramount was better. Who to say Intimidator wasnt in the pipeline anyway.

Also in the last TEN years (2004-2013) Cedar Point has only added 2 coasters. They also lost 2. Carowinds has added 3 and lost 1. Who has Cedar Fair's attention again?

Banshee, Leviathan, Gold Striker, Behemoth, Diamondback, Intimidator, Intimidator 305, Prowler, Renegade, Stinger, Possessed, Firehawk, Dominator. All these are major coasters in the last 7 years, NOT installed at Cedar Point.

And while I personally hate the Boomerang, Windseeker, and Dinosaur's Alive, Carowinds probably has one of the brightest futures in the chain thanks to Cedar Fair. Give them time to grow and it will become a "destination."

If you do not wish to visit because they haven't added anything to your liking, then don't go. I hope when you do that you stop posting on these forums as well, you sound like an entitled brat.

There is no room for facts in this thread.

One train operation was only common on Reptar, Taxi and Nighthawk under Paramount...under Cedar Fair, it seems normal for during the week for Hurler, Cyclone, Oddcoaster and Nighthawk. Reptar and Taxi were included to prove the point, Paramount like to have ride capacity at full.

Lol, that seems to be the trend here, doesn't it? Between that and the atrocious grammar that often rears its head here.

Offtopic: It's because it is written in the code of conduct that everyone should make a conceited effort to use correct spelling and grammar.

5. Grammar and Spelling: You are expected to make a concerted effort to use correct spelling and grammar on this website. This include proper capitalization and punctuation. Many browsers have built-in functionality that will check this for you. Firefox is the recommended browser of this site, and has such functionality. Internet chat shorthand (“r u going 2 the park today?”) is not permitted here, nor is slang.

So yea...it's the 23rd of August and there has yet to be even the slightest hint of any upcoming big announcements. I think it's pretty safe to assume that nothing of any significance is coming to Carowinds next year(though most of us already knew this). I really do hope that Afterburn receives a much needed paint job over the offseason though.

Afterburn getting repainted would be significance, the once proud star attraction looks like Jester at SF New Orleans. Season passes arent on sale yet, and Carowinds has gotten a new attraction every year since 1992, taking a year for general improvemnts wouldnt be bad. Furthermore Carowinds went 12 years (80-92) without a new coaster and lost one in 88.

Ok, so today when I was getting on to post, I realized that we hit 1973 topics, which is the same year carowinds opened! Haha. I also have my predictions set for what we might get in 2014 if they decide to put a nice ride in. Both of the pics will be below.

After being at the park today and seeing the stakes all the way out to the road. I am sticking to the idea of a new entry road and parking lots to make way for a resort in the future. I see absolutely no signs of a new ride next year at all. A coaster would have likely already been announced and under construction. I dont really see a flat ride coming either because there has been no sign of this either anywhere that I have seen in the park. I say new parking lots, roads, and possibly an entrance makeover for next year.
