General Carowinds discussion

I'm not sure if everyone knows this, but the Wendy's near Carowinds has about seven or eight photos of Carowinds inside their restaurant. They've kind of themed it to an amusement park with Carowinds photos and Horses ripped from a Carosuel. The photos I say are about 7 or 8 years old. They also have some good pictures of the Sternwheeler too.

Yeah They are VERY Old. I diden't realize how old they were till this Year when I went there for Lunch with my Crew During Training, and I noticed that a lot of those Pictures are outdated.

I haven't been to the Burger King on Westinghouse Blvd. in years but they use to have some really nice Thunder Road pics on the wall when it had it's original rolling stock. They had other Carowinds related pictures too. Anyone been there lately?

I went to that wendy's last summer and was amazed too, that was before I was a member of CC. The oldest picture was of the red cyclone wasn't it? or was it the picture of the old TR trains?

By the way what colors has the cyclone been and when did they paint it?

I think the color schemes for CC have been like this:

Red with Black Supports: 1980-1992
Carolina Blue with Black Supports: 1992-1999
Dark Blue with Black Supports: 2000-Present

*Buzz* I'm sorry but you are also wrong. It used to seem like Cyclone got repainted every year. I know there have been more schemes than this, but here are the ones I remember for sure (don't know the dates):

(Always black supports).
Track:
-Red
-Green
-Cyan
-Dark Blue/Puke Purple

GREEN? I don't ever recall it being Anaconda or Hulk Green, but I didn't visit Carowinds from 1988-1991

BTW The trains have changed colors several times as well. When it first opened the trains were Black with a red stripe, then they were repainted orange, and now they are yellow, green, and blue (with reverse color arrangement on each train)

I remember seeing a green picture of the cyclone, Also, look at the layers of paint of the ride itself.

Red:1980-Something
Green:Something-1992 (or back to red)
Light Blue:1992-1999
Purple:2000-2003

I didn't see black on the layers of paint on the track where the wheels have worn down to the origional steel after the 2nd loop by the quene line. I am not saying that the track wasn't black but it was a very dark green (maybe some people mistaked it for black). The picture I saw with green track had orange trains.
