General Carowinds discussion

Well, since it is now Dinosaurs Alive for 2013, I guess we'll have to wait until 2014 to see if they do anything major such as a Giga or a big flat ride. Next year I would like to try to go to Cedar Point because I like Mill Force, Magnum, and want to ride the new Gatekeeper.

^That would be a nice use of space for if they remove Hurler. Any GCI coaster would a nice addition.

Yes I posted a few pages back which still remains on my list, however; I would also like to see a 4D coaster like x2 or Dinoconda; something unique to our park other cedar parks don't have and it'll be the only type on the east coast causing more attendance. It'll definitely make carowinds a destination park. I do understand we are in dying need of a great GCI woodie though.

Although something like X2 would be amazing, they are also very very expensive. I believe X2 cost Six Flags around $45 million which in comparison Intimidator was $23 million. We could possible get something similar where I see a lot of parks getting the B&M Wingcoasters in the next several years.

Widen Avenue of the Carolinas to a Four Lane Rd. in which two are only used on most days but have retractable foliage pieces that control the lane usage

Put a >10 Story Parking Deck at the end of Avenue of the Carolinas. Decorate this deck as a piece (similar to 7th Street Station
- First two floors is Season Pass Parking
- Maybe add on the top floor of the Parking Deck some kind of attraction or Restaurant or gift shops or combo of some sort.

Watch what happens when you double the Area of the park.

Don't change any more of the current park as it is...with the exception of major and minor upgrades to the rest of the rides that currently reside here...However increase emphasis on the core themes of the initial themes.

Hyper under the bridge...I still secretly want it.

Only 5 things:
1.Launch or giga coaster
2.a friendlyer staff
3.afterburn re-paint
4. More reasonable food and drink prices
5.cleaner, more entertaining, waterpark

I'd like to see some upgrades to the campground:

1) Install cable
2) Install wireless throughout the campground
3) Remove the south gate that they hardly ever open and instead put in a resort gate in the back so you can walk from the campground to the park
4) Have 'resort times' where people who stay at the campground can get in the park early
5) Upgrade a few of the sites to pull-through 'big rig' sites. Their biggest site is 40' long and when I'm towing my car we're nearly 60' long.

I'd be happy if something like this developed over the next 25 or so years...

I would love themes from the Carolina's to be brought back to give us a park that is special and stands out. Let's say for example take the area with hurler and turn that into a new blue ridge style area and maybe even find a way to work rapids entry into that section. And while they are at it update rapids returning some special effects to it. And then throw in a few good flats with the theme and a relatively unpopular section would really rock. Oh, and then SCarowinds would have an entirely new way to go with that section.

I totally agree with you on bringing back themes from the Carolinas; hence the name of the park Carowinds (Carolina Winds). For instance what theming do you see with the Carolina (R)ural (F)arm (D)istrict area? Let's not all type at once. Or Carolina Boardwalk? Ok the wood boardwalk pavement and Hanks seafood resturaunt is a nice little touch, I guess. Lets talk about the Country Fair section. What over there says country fair besides the big bulb string lights? Nothing unless I'm missing something.

Well....kind of a stretch, but i have always thought of windseeker as one of those big wind turbines that you see in rural fields. Also, in those fields there are a lot of animals in the tall grass (hence, carolina cobra).
I'm not trying to be a smart-tail, that has just always been my perspective on the matter.

As for the boardwalk, i would somewhat like for carolina cyclone to have a hurricane theme in the future because hurricanes are common at beaches, but then again, that ride is already so historic, that i wouldn't touch it.

Hurricanes normally bring tornados which are also called Cyclones. Now, find a way to connect Goldrusher to the boardwalk.

I agree with you on that, but your resort expansion is currently the employee parking lot. I don't really see much for the resort.
