MOD EDIT!

I'm turning this thread into the 2014 News and Rumors thread, similar to 2012's thread and 2013's thread.

This thread will be used for all coaster news and rumors for next year. Only two exceptions being the ongoing threads for Banshee at Kings Island thread here and Dollywood's Firechaser Express thread here. Six Flags Over Georgia could get it's own thread, depending on what they announce tomorrow, but that remains to be seen.

Cedar Point is adding a set of Flyers and a Zamperla Disko-Coaster as well as some infrastructure upgrades.

Dorney Park is expanding their waterpark yet again with the Snake Pit, a multi-slide tower.

Canada's Wonderland is announcing on Friday, popular rumor at the moment is a dark ride inside of Wonder Mountain.

Worlds of Fun is having a passholder sneak preview Saturday for their upcoming additions. Popular rumors are currently the WindSeeker from Knott's Berry Farm and an Oceans of Fun addition.

Six Flags America has inadvertently leaked next years rides, the Ragin Cajun spinning mouse will be moving from Six Flags Great America, as well as a set of Flyers.

Big Six Flags announcement day tomorrow. I personally am very excited to hear about the Great America, Great Adventure, Over Georiga, and Fiesta Texas additions.

Whoa six flags! This announcement reminds me of the six flags parks I grew up with! I literally laughed hysterically at the canada/russia joke! All this stuff came out of no where to me!

I thought the same thing, lol. I mean, we heard little things here and there but nothing concrete and then BOOM! I think Mexico and Great America got the best rides and SFOG got the most money.

The waterpark there will definitely help bring in people, but I'm afraid it's going to be way to small for the market there.

It's only gonna have four new slides and a wave pool at opening... :-/

Smaller than expected, so the crowds are probably going to make the wave pool look like it's in Japan, haha!

I thought SFoG was going to get a coaster, so it was a bit of a surprise to see that they were getting a water park. I guess they want to be like Carowinds, since its included with admission to the park... Do any other Six Flags have a "free" water park? I like the coaster that will be going to Six Flags Great America, looks like all the blue prints and rumors were correct on that one. I also liked the 415ft tall Drop Tower on Kingda Ka, which I knew about, 90mph :o I think that will be very interesting. Six Flags in Mexico is also doing a modification to their woodie. And of course you got backwards colossus and batman at magic mountain  Why will Carowinds not turn afterburn backwards, that would be absolutely insane... I guess its not a cedar fair thing though :( I really hop to make it to Magic Mounain next year, not because of that but I was to ride full throttle and X2. Overall I think the expansions and addition were nice for Six Flags. I hope to get to go to a few more six flags parks next year... this year i still havent went to any, I only went to SFoG last year in I think Sept or maybe early Oct and it was not HORRIBLE.... Oh yea lets not forget they are building a 400ft tall sky screamer as well... that would be fun too...

Now we got announcements for a lot of parks, but when is KD, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and any other park that haunt announced, going to announce their new rides/expansions? I know BGT is getting the new drop tower... I never heard anything about Williamsburg though...

Six Flags America, Great America, New England, Fiesta Texas and St. Louis as well as The Great Escape, and now Over Georgia have free waterparks attached.

Six Flags Mexico, La Ronde, and Discovery Kingdom have no waterparks. :|

So only Magic Mountain, Over Texas, and Great Adventure have separate gate waterparks.

Over Georgia has Six Flags White Water nearby (which is a full separate gate waterpark only 13 miles away) which is somewhat confusing to me for the push to a full waterpark inside SFoG. Seems like it would be cannibalizing itself. Maybe Jarsh has some insight?

Jarsh posts about Six Flags rides in News and Rumors thread.

I split posts off into a Six Flags specific thread.

JamminJ moves posts back into News and Rumors thread.

I think it will work. I mean, not everyone wants to pay the extra money for SFoG just to go to the water park unless they want the park experience as well. Some may want just the water park and will go to whitewater only...I can see them both surviving.

Re: Afterburn backwards-

Six Flags purchased a new chassis from B&M to allow for backwards Batman and they're moving it around to the parks. For Afterburn to run backwards the park would have to do the same.

Wow, so it is common in the six flags chain ha-ha. I didn't know they had got a different chassis to allow it to run backwards. I wish they would do it to afterburn, or the last 2 cars or something. We just need something different, and that would be different and probably wouldn't cost a whole lot....
