General Carowinds discussion

We have psychics on this page. I hope you guys get to enjoy looking at trees for hours upon hours. Is that maple? I'll be the Guy riding the new rides. Just because you play tycoon doesn't mean you know what you're talking about. I would never take my kid's if they didn't have rides. They get it unlike you. They want to he entertained by more than a blue bench. And I love the carnival.

Sheesh... A 32 year old guy with kids has this kind of teenager mentality?

I don't think anyone here is saying they would rather the place be a public park than a theme park. What we are saying is if you enjoy the parking lot carnivals (which is what you are describing you like) then that's fine. We, on the other hand, enjoy atmosphere at parks.

On the plus side, it's nice to know I'll never run into you at Dollywood, Disney or Knobel's.

I haven't been to a fair or carnival since 2007, our local fair is full of drugs, drunks and jail birds. Sadly, that is just the locals that work it not mentioning the guys to travel with it. It's cheaper to spend $40 on gas and food to go to Carowinds, then waste it at a fair. Not to the rides company half the rides closed on wristband day cause they are still setting u p or they failed state inspection.

A park is far more than just rides. Carowinds actually has quite a lack of atmosphere in comparison to other parks. The atmosphere of a park is just like a persons personality. If someone doesn't have real personality, they're going to be boring. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a prime example of a park with real atmosphere. It's like you're transported into another world. If all parks were simply just about rides, there wouldn't be much of a reason to visit other parks, because they would all feel the same.

Would you really enjoy a park if it only had a funnel cake stand, and a corn dog stand with little to no trees or decor? I think not. Rides make a big part of theme parks, but if you didn't have the restaurants, plants or trees how would that really be? Just like Jarsh and coasterfreak were saying.

When I pay that much money to go to an amusement park, I want a complete experience. This is what Disney and Universal does so well. I want a clean, freshly painted, landscaped atmosphere with lots of trees and themed areas. The Magic Kingdom really does not have that many thrill rides but the heavy theming, the detail, and money put into everything makes a world of difference. Even the parades are spectacular. If I'm paying $7 to go to the State Fair, then I can deal with that because it's cheap, dirty and sometimes i like cheap and dirty. But i would not pay $60 plus $10 parking for that.

I prefer the yellow ones myself, but that's just me.

Not only that, but the parking is $15 now. Who would pay $75 in all to go to a crappy park with no atmosphere. Not me. I guess that's why you wouldn't catch me at a local fair.

Well yellow is nice to look at. I never met so many people like you guys. The first thing always talked about is the rides. Atmosphere is great but its about the rides. Rides draw. Atmosphere is a bonus. Disney sucks for an adult. Because its a child's park. Dollywood used to suck but now they're bringing rides. They're understanding that rides are the draw. They've had great atmosphere but I'll defend myself as a coaster Guy. I love awesome rides.

And apparently you are willing to pay to attend a park with no atmosphere. You're either paying more for a season pass or you are just sharing
one brain with the rest of these robots and paying each individual time for this ridiculous amount of money you are concerned about.

I would just be happy with some type of transport ride to get from one side of the park to the other. gets tiring after awhile walking around.

The last part of this makes no sense whatsoever. I don't think you know what you are talking about at all anyways.

Just apply at the local community college. Take an English class. Not very difficult at all. We're the FOURTH BEST NOW. Not in the league of even Cedar Point. Cedar Point of the south explains it all. Much like Clarissa did back in the day.

How can you say this when you are the one who don't even know how to use capitalization. This is off topic, and you don't even know where I go to school/college. Let's get back on topic here.

How about we get back to what this thread is all about? I am still thinking the next major ride/coaster will be 2015. With this big recent announcement by Cedar Fair does anyone think that Carowinds might announce what is going on in 2015 when they announce what would be new in 2014 assuming next year we will be getting mainly minor improvements like more pavers, Afterburn being painted and stuff like that? Just curious if anyone might be thinking the same thing I am?
